Pitbull<\/a> is a Guinness World Record holder – after breaking the record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps at his British Summer Time concert on Friday night (10Jul26). <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Pitbull breaks world record<\/p>\n
A staggering 22,141 fans wore the caps, meant to emulate the 45-year-old\u2019s iconic smooth scalp. <\/p>\n
BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James, who was instrumental in organising the record-breaking attempt, took to the stage in a bald cap of his own to announce the achievement. <\/p>\n
With Mr Worldwide blown away by the achievement. <\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
He told the crowd: \u201cWow, we did it baldies! Tell you what, I’m speechless at this point.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut I can tell you this much, I say it to the baldies all the time at the shows, \u2018When you put on them bald caps, you know you’re about to have the time of your life!\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd now you’re officially in the Guinness Book of World Records!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn order to feature in the bald cap count, fans had to stick to strict rules, including tucking all their hair under at the front, standing in a specific area and keeping the cap on for a full minute. <\/p>\n
\nNaturally bald people didn\u2019t count either. They had to be wearing an actual bald cap to be valid. <\/p>\n
\nHowever, the record achievement was somewhat undermined by the fact that there wasn\u2019t a record to beat – Pitbull\u2019s was the first of its kind in the famous book.<\/p>\n
\nIn the comments section of a video of Pitbull accepting the honour, one person wrote: \u201cWhat a seven days\u00a0@greg_james\u00a0has had.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhat spectacular nonsense!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe fan was referring to the fact that Greg has just returned from America, where he attended the wedding of his pal Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. <\/p>\n
\nAnother added: \u201cOne week at Taylor swifts wedding!! The next week putting a bald cap on pitbull – you\u2019re living literally everyone\u2019s dream!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDJ Jack Remmington was the person who had initially had the first thought about organising such a record breaking attempt, and took to Instagram to share a video of the moment. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cGuys if you could see the smile on my face right now,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m so appreciative to Greg and the Radio 1 team for keeping me involved every step of the way. Feeling sooo content!\u201d<\/p>\n
