\nThe Jolene\u2019 country icon, 77, who grew up in Sevier County, Tennessee, and once said she had spent $1 million dollars on her breast enlargements, said looking trashy was a \u201ccountry girl\u2019s idea of glamour\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe is quoted in the Daily Star saying: “I based my look on the town tramp, the trash in our county.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cShe had long beautiful red nails, bright red lipstick, peroxide yellow hair, high-heeled shoes, short skirts. I thought she was absolutely beautiful.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI thought, \u2018That\u2019s what I\u2019m going to be when I grow up \u2013 trash.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDolly has constantly made quips about her appearance, including: \u201cIt costs a lot of money to look this cheap.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDespite her perkiness, Dolly recently hinted age was getting to her when she admitted she has always found touring \u201ctaxing\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe also told reporters she no longer goes on the road for long stretches as she doesn\u2019t like to be \u201cfar away from home\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nDolly, who has been married to her husband Carter Dean, 80, since 1966, said at a press event to promote her new album \u2018Rockstar\u2019 and upcoming memoir \u2018Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones\u2019: \u201cIt\u2019s always been taxing, the reason I don\u2019t tour now is because I don\u2019t want to be that far away from home. We\u2019re getting older and I\u2019ve got a lot of business that I do and the movies that I do.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo we\u2019re close to home and I just really do prepare, just like coming over for this, we had a band and before I had to cancel once \u2013 my husband was sick at the time but he\u2019s fine now but you do plan and I do not plan to tour at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDolly also claimed \u201cgood doctors, good lighting and good makeup\u201d helps her stay looking youthful as she heads for her 80th birthday.<\/p>\n
\nHer last tour was 2016\u2019s \u2018Pure and Simple\u2019 shows, which took in more than 60 cities in the US and Canada.<\/p>\n
\nDolly has said she is \u201cso excited\u201d to be putting out her long-promised rock album.<\/p>\n
\nShe vowed to make a rocky record after she was last year inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
\nIn a statement ahead of the release on 17 November she said: \u201cI\u2019m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album \u2018Rockstar\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI am very honoured and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I\u2019ve enjoyed putting it together!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
