Dwayne Johnson took a prop from Jumanji: Open World<\/p>\n
The 54-year-old actor previously revealed the gamepiece he wears around his neck as Dr. Xander ‘Smolder’ Bravestone in the upcoming film paid homage to the late screen legend because he had used it in the original 1995 Jumanji film, and now Dwayne has confessed he snuck it home after filming.<\/p>\n
He told People magazine: \u201cThe last prop that I took from set was the dice that I wore in Jumanji .<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is one half of a pair of dice that they used in the original, OG Jumanji.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a big scene where the dice are slow rolling, and it\u2019s slow motion and it\u2019s so dramatic. One half of those dice \u2014 Die? Dice? \u2014 my character wears in the film.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd I took that home. Props, they\u2019re always amazing, but you gotta give that s*** back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCrew members asked Dwayne to return the souvenir, and he moved quickly to change the subject.<\/p>\n
\nHe admitted: \u201cThey were like, \u2018Hey DJ, do you have the\u2026?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Nah, I gave it \u2014 I don\u2019t \u2014 ah, I got to go.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe wrestling icon also confessed to taking Maui’s magical fishhook from the live action Moana film, but there were multiple versions of that particular prop so he avoided getting into trouble.<\/p>\n
\nEarlier this year, Dwayne paid an emotional tribute to Robin as the cast of the new Jumanji movie gathered at CinemaCon to reveal the film’s full title. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking at the Sony Pictures event at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace, he said: “This whole franchise would not have started or happened or kicked off in this really beautiful way without one man, and that’s Robin Williams.”<\/p>\n
\nDiscussing the nod to the comedy star in the upcoming movie, he said: “If you don’t know already, it’s one half of the original dice that was used in the original Jumanji<\/p>\n
\n“Robin, as we like to say, this one’s for you.”<\/p>\n
\nHe also showed off the “Easter egg” nod to Robin – who took his own life in 2014 at the age of 63 – when filming started on Jumanji: OPen World.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking in November, he said in an Instagram video: “Little day one of Jumanji excitement. That was cool.<\/p>\n
\n“As you see, a little easter egg for Dr. Bravestone. This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams, as a show of respect.<\/p>\n
\n“And a way of honouring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji. Big finale. Here we go, let’s shoot!”<\/p>\n
