Singer Bonnie Tyler<\/strong><\/a> has unexpectedly died at the age of 75.<\/p>\n

The 75-year-old \u201cTotal Eclipse of the Heart\u201d singer was hospitalized in Portugal and died due to an illness.<\/p>\n

Her spokesperson confirmed her passing in a statement<\/h3>\n

\u201cBonnie\u2019s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in [a] hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,\u201d her spokesperson shared in a statement.<\/a> \u201cWe will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.”<\/p>\n

It was just confirmed a few weeks ago that she had been in a coma<\/a> after undergoing emergency surgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bonnie<\/strong> had been making hit music since the 1970s. She became widely known for hits including “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” and released multiple albums throughout her career. She has earned three Grammy nominations, and received a Gold Badge Award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors in recognition of her contributions to music.<\/p>\n
