Kristin Cavallari<\/a> has claimed she had to give “half the value” of her company to Jay Cutler when they divorced.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n

The Uncommon James founder split from the NFL star in 2020 and not only did she reveal she doesn’t “get any money” from her former spouse – with whom she has Camden, 13, Jaxon, 12, and 10-year-old Saylor – but the terms of their 2022 divorce settlement saw her hand over a hefty chunk of her own fortune.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, she said: “What ultimately gave me the confidence to leave my marriage was the success of Uncommon James.<\/p>\n
“That gave me the confidence to be like, ‘I know what I’m doing,’ which is interesting because if I didn’t have Uncommon James, I could have taken half of his money, right?”<\/p>\n

The former Hills star noted her brand was a “really large asset” and while she was “really p*****” at the time at having to split its value, she’s ultimately pleased because of the impact it had on her.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: “I don’t get any money from my ex-husband. I had to give him half the value of Uncommon James in cash and properties and everything else.<\/p>\n
\n“I’m so thankful [now], because for me, I’ve needed these things in my life to keep going. <\/p>\n
\n“I have found that that is an instance where I was like, ‘I’m going to fight harder.’ Those little moments push me, and I actually come out the other side stronger.”<\/p>\n
\nLast year, Kristen claime dshe had “never gotten a penny” from Jay.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on her series Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, Kristin said: “Our revenue is close to $50 million a year, but because I was obviously a WAG – athletes’ wives and girlfriends, if you’re not familiar – people love to say that everything I have in my life is because of my ex-husband, and that my ex-husband funded Uncommon James. But I am, to this day, 100 per cent owner, and I’ve never taken any outside funding.<\/p>\n
\n“I have never gotten a penny from my ex-husband. I didn’t get any money from our divorce, so let’s just clear that up.”<\/p>\n
\nJay later hit back at her claims and insisted it was “reckless” and “borderline slander” to suggest she hadn’t seen any of his fortune.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on his own Take It Outside podcast, Jay – who was once the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL – said: \u201cLet\u2019s think about this logically. \u2018Not a penny,\u2019 OK. Married for, I don\u2019t know, seven years or so, three kids.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou can go and see how much I made in the NFL. It\u2019s online. You can see the contract from year to year and the total amount at the end of 12 years. So, you go to divorce and each side gets a lawyer and then you go to court and there\u2019s a judge.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJay insisted there is \u201cnot a judge in the state of Tennessee\u201d that would have signed an agreement that let him \u201ckeep every single dollar\u201d he made throughout their marriage, noting Kristin’s company, Uncommon James was a “marital asset” because the former Laguna Beach star funded it during their relationship.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cI think it\u2019s reckless. I think it\u2019s borderline slander to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got. It\u2019s insanity.<\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s completely false, completely untrue. It is, it just is. I\u2019ve got a divorce decree. I\u2019ve got something that\u2019s signed by the judge \u2014 it\u2019s, like, 67 pages \u2014 it says the number breakdown.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJay didn’t want to “get into” a specific breakdown but promised it was “definitely not zero” and \u201cwithout a doubt\u201d enough for Kristin to live comfortably on.<\/p>\n
