Justin Baldoni<\/a> <\/b>and his wife, Emily Baldoni<\/b><\/a>, are speaking out on their new normal after his legal battle with Blake Lively <\/b>was settled.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have not done this in a while, so we have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years and it\u2019s not because we haven\u2019t had anything to say,\u201d Justin, 42, began an Instagram<\/span><\/a> video shared Wednesday, July 8. \u201cLord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this where we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just doesn\u2019t feel like the right time. We were talking about it and feeling into it and praying about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emily, 41, chimed in, revealing that \u201cthis feels like the moment\u201d to speak out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat being said, there is so much to say and it makes it hard to speak, it makes it hard to figure out what is right for us for this specific moment,\u201d Emily noted. \u201cBut what does feel important is that we can genuinely say that we are sitting here today feeling immense gratitude for so many things and so many people and so many people that have happened to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter 18 months of seemingly endless PR mudslinging and more than 1,400 court filings, the bitter legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni appears to finally \u2014 mercifully \u2014 be winding down. In early May, two weeks before their high-profile trial was set to start, attorneys announced they\u2019d settled the case out of court. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In late 2023, Justin was named in a lawsuit<\/a> by his It Ends With Us <\/i>costar Lively, 38, who accused the director of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment and attempting to destroy her reputation. Justin vehemently denied the accusations, subsequently filing a defamation suit against Lively, which was ultimately dismissed by a judge.<\/p>\n

In the midst of the legal battle, Justin and Emily refrained from speaking publicly. The Jane the Virgin <\/i>alum further noted on Wednesday that gratitude \u201csaved\u201d the couple, who share two children.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also feel that it\u2019s important as we say that, in that gratitude, it doesn\u2019t negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years,\u201d Emily continued. \u201cWe\u2019ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like, \u2018How could something like this even happen?\u2019 Let alone disguise[d] as a fight for women. So much to unpack, and the truth is that there\u2019s been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family, which also makes it hard to speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justin further acknowledged that there have been many \u201cpainful things that have been spoken into existence\u201d as a result of the lengthy legal battle.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJustin Baldoni celebrated his 41st birthday with his family by his side amid ongoing legal drama. \u201cHappy birthday, my love,\u201d the actor\u2019s wife, Emily Baldoni, wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 24. \u201cCelebrating the man, husband and father that you are. I\u2019d choose you again and again.\u201d Emily, 40, also uploaded a photo of the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThat created so much noise and we didn\u2019t want to add to the noise,\u201d he explained of the couple\u2019s reasons for staying quiet. \u201cWe just wanted to let the justice system run its course.\u201d<\/p>\n

A judge ruled in May to dismiss the majority of Lively\u2019s lawsuit claims. The rest were settled<\/span><\/a> within weeks before the pair were expected to begin trial.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth and the facts have spoken for themselves,\u201d Emily stated on Wednesday. \u201cAnd here we are.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the months since the legal drama concluded, Justin and Emily have been focused on \u201chealing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are healing, and if you\u2019ve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn\u2019t linear,\u201d Justin said. \u201cIt looks different every day, and we have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters and it\u2019s this, it\u2019s our family, it\u2019s our friends, it\u2019s our community [who] have been there for us, it\u2019s our faith.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI think we\u2019re closer and more devoted and steadfast in our faith that we\u2019ve ever been. Also, and this has been on both of our hearts, there were so many of you who, when we didn\u2019t have a voice, were our voice. \u2026 So many of you had discernment and you used your intuition and you trusted that, and you have given your time to fight for us. Thank you does not feel like enough, but we\u2019re here in large part because of so many of you and all of our friends and family.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Justin, he and his wife learned one major lesson from the ordeal.<\/p>\n
