A triumphant, spectacular epic. The performances from Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, John Leguizamo, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong\u2019o are genuinely grand. And for some, truly, the best performances of their career! \u2026 Christopher Nolan is a visionary, and\u00a0#TheOdyssey\u00a0is a work of art \u2026 The battle scenes, especially at Troy, are breathtaking. It\u2019s an incredible epic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Independent\/status\/2074244594988941452\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Independent<\/a><\/em>: \u201cNolan\u2019s biggest film to date. This film has about triple the number of huge set pieces than any of Nolan\u2019s previous films, and every single one of them is breathtaking in their own way. In\u00a0<em>The Odyssey<\/em>, Nolan showcases visual trickery in a way you\u2019ve never seen a few before. The only criticism I have, and it\u2019s a good problem, is \u2026 you\u2019re often left wanting more of each set piece, and it certainly goes your way into height of the re-watchability factor of the film.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Odyssey | Official Countdown Trailer\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AyIZ9tiiN8I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AaronCouch\/status\/2074246465858486642\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>\u00a0film editor Aaron Couch: \u201cBeen seeing his movies in theaters since\u00a0<em>Memento<\/em>, and after 25 years,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/TheOdyssey?src=hashtag_click\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#TheOdyssey<\/a>\u00a0gives us a first: a fleshed out horror sequence directed by Christopher Nolan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ian_sandwell\/status\/2074244497282646450\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DigitalSpy<\/a>: \u201cThe Odyssey is staggering. Packed with intense and spectacular set pieces, often backed by a soul-rattling score, it builds to a final act that\u2019s as good as anything Nolan\u2019s done. Purists might baulk at the adaptation changes, but as an experience, nobody is doing it like Nolan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/colliderfrosty\/status\/2074245641224831134\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Collider<\/a>: \u201cChristopher Nolan\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Odyssey<\/em>\u00a0is *incredible*. I\u2019ve been lucky enough to watch it twice and it gets better on the second viewing. I\u2019m really blown away by this film. If you can, SEE IT IN\u00a0@IMAX\u00a070mm. It\u2019s a jaw dropping experience. It\u2019ll be great wherever you see it, but IMAX 70mm is the best option.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PhildeSemlyen\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Time Out<\/a><\/em>: \u201cDense but accessible, packed with career-best work from the stacked cast \u2013 Samantha Morton is extraordinary \u2013 it\u2019s a dizzying mix of craft and spectacle that\u2019s built to last. Seen it twice, took so much away both times: a chilling vision of brutalized men seeing themselves in the eyes of women, a study of leadership and an old-school sweeping adventure tale. Even the Cyclops got me in the feels. There\u2019s even a few laughs, too. Go see. Twice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/davidehrlich\/status\/2074244582586376196\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IndieWire<\/a><\/em>: \u201cThe Odyssey: a surprisingly natural (and less despairing)\u00a0<em>Oppenheimer<\/em>\u00a0follow-up about a man haunted by defying the gods &amp; dooming civilization \u2014 this one fights to avenge his own hubris. IMAX obviously immense. Too clunky to be S-tier Nolan, but the last act rewards the journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So there you have.
