Katie Price<\/a>: Nothing to Hide revealing they were often left to fend for themselves and cook their own dinners while their mother was out partying and coming home high – Katie has now admitted she had no idea what the children were going through as she thought she was trying to be the “perfect mum”.<\/p>\nDuring an appearance on ITV show This Morning, she explained: “[It was] awful … They are amazing. And when they done the interview … They said: ‘Mum if we’re going to do this, we’re going to be brutally honest … and I said: ‘I want you to speak from your heart.’ And Junior said: ‘I proper broke down’ and Princess said: ‘So did I’ and I was like ‘Why?’ …<\/p>\n
“[Because] I never knew [what they went through] because obviously I wanted to kill myself and I did try … That period of my life, I don’t think people realise when I said when I said I had a breakdown, I wanted to die, didn’t want to be here.<\/p>\n

“And so as much as I thought I was being a mum, I wasn’t. I was vacant … For young kids like that wanting their mum … I was trying to be the perfect mum and obviously I wasn’t. It kills me I put them through that … “<\/p>\n
\nShe went on to add: “Obviously we’ve come through the other end and they’re like: ‘We’ve got our mum back’ but what confused them is that I was such an amazing mum, had the breakdown, didn’t have the mum that they needed and wanted.<\/p>\n
\n“I wasn’t mentally there to be able to do it. And it kills me that I put them through that … The kids knowing I wasn’t right … I put all my family through it … it’s awful but it’s real life. It can happen to anyone.”<\/p>\n
\nIn Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, Junior revealed the kids were often left to fend for themselves while their mother was out and he shared the terrifying moment he realised the former glamour model was high when she came home. <\/p>\n
\nJunior said: “I remember missing her so much and I remember this one time in particular, I was in her bed waiting for her to come back. <\/p>\n
\n“I woke up, probably about 3.30am, to some loud noises. I saw her coming in the room and I\u2019ll never forget the look on her face \u2026 she was obviously on stuff, right? I could see it in her eyes. And it scared me because I\u2019ve never seen my mum look like that. She\u2019s there but she\u2019s not there. She wasn\u2019t being a mum. She wasn\u2019t the mum that I knew from being a little, little boy. <\/p>\n
\n“Mum was on drugs and she could not look after us, and that is the reality of it. She couldn\u2019t.” <\/p>\n
\nJunior and Princess are Katie’s kids from her marriage to pop star Peter Andre and she’s also mother to eldest son Harvey, 24, from a previous relationship who has special needs, as well as Jett, 12, and Bunny, 10, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler. <\/p>\n
\nJunior went on to explain the siblings rallied around and looked after each other and they learned how to microwave meals to feed the family. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: “We was kind of like the siblings we\u2019d just look after one another quite a lot. I remember me trying to figure out ‘Is this food microwavable?’ to feed us for dinner. “Not that she didn\u2019t feed us, but she was out all the time.”<\/p>\n
