Jesse Tyler Ferguson<\/a> on his Dinner\u2019s on Me podcast, Kristin – most famous for playing Charlotte in the beloved TV series – said she was more than a little apprehensive before she started her motherhood journey.<\/p>\nShe said: \u201cI was very scared. Very, very scared, so it took quite a while for me to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Kristin went on to urge others thinking about becoming a parent to \u201creally examine what you\u2019re being motivated from\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nShe continued: \u201cI also think that just in terms of women, you know, we\u2019re told by society that we have to be mothers, we have to be mothers, we have to be mothers. And for a long time, I was really angered by that.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe whole notion that you\u2019re not complete unless you have a child is just so false, right? And I don\u2019t think everyone is suited to be a parent. I just don\u2019t find that helpful.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe shouldn\u2019t ever have to apologise for being ambitious or wanting to work or wanting to travel or be adventurous or whatever the thing is that you want. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I think you have to really do some work as a woman to divest yourself of what society is telling you you should be doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKristin\u2019s admission came after she previously said she felt constantly \u201cguilty\u201d about trying to find a balance between family and work. <\/p>\n
\nRecalling the time scale for shooting Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That\u2026, Kristin said she had to fly and see her kids at the weekend.<\/p>\n
\nShe told Haute Living Los Angeles: \u201cSeven months is a long time to shoot, and a long time to be trying to go back and forth every weekend to see my kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI didn\u2019t want to take them out of school because my daughter had just started middle school. I was able to get them started with school, so at least I felt like they had a routine, and my plan was not to come back every weekend.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cMy plan was to maybe bring them out or, you know, skip a weekend here and there, but my 5-year-old was not having it. He was mad.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo, I had to come back every weekend because I just felt so guilty. But this is what happens with trying to find a work-life balance.\u201d<\/p>\n
