Adam Sandler<\/a> to helm their nuptials at Madison Square Garden on Saturday (03Jul26), but in a chat on his On Air with Ryan Seacrest radio show, Ryan revealed he\u2019d RSVP\u2019d before having to pull out of attending the wedding altogether<\/p>\nHe said: \u201cI RSVP’d to go and then Disney hired me to do the 4th of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th, and so I had to cancel.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had no choice. It’s part of my job at Disney to do these things. It was work.\u201d<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Ryan ended up being in Nashville instead of New York, to host the Let Freedom Sing! Music City special to mark the Independence Day holiday in America, so couldn\u2019t have made the ceremony as well.<\/p>\n
\nHis co-hosts then lambasted Ryan for \u201cwasting\u201d his invite to what\u2019s been dubbed the celebrity wedding of the century. <\/p>\n
\nWith Ryan hitting back: \u201cIt wasn’t a waste! I was actually really excited. I was kind of torn.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe also let slip a detail about the wedding as he revealed Taylor and Travis had said \u201cI do\u201d in the afternoon. <\/p>\n
\nRyan continued: \u201cI couldn’t have done both. The actual wedding was in the afternoon. I went through the minutes!\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut I was so honoured and thrilled to be invited.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTo add to the \u201cirony\u201d, after saying he would be attending the nuptials, he ran into Taylor and Travis at a restaurant, with the soon-to-be newlyweds calling their wedding \u201cthe event\u201d in conversation. <\/p>\n
\nRyan added: \u201c[Taylor] was like, \u2018It’s going to be so much fun. We’re going to have the best time. It’s going to\u00a0go late!\u2019<\/p>\n
\nIn an attempt to make up for missing the wedding, Ryan \u201cgave them a shoutout on\u00a0the show\u201d, he said. <\/p>\n
\nRyan\u2019s admission came after he offered to officiate the wedding in an interview with Taylor, as he told the singer he had just taken on the role for his co-host Tanya Reid\u2019s nuptials.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI took an online course and I’m allowed to do other weddings. So, I’m just throwing my name out there as officiant.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSaying that she was \u201chonoured\u201d, Taylor replied at the time: \u201cThat is fantastic, you guys are amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
