England soccer player Jordan Henderson<\/strong> has been hospitalized after suffering an injury<\/a> while celebrating the country\u2019s historic World Cup win over Mexico.<\/p>\n

After the Sunday, July 5, match in Mexico City, Henderson, 36, and the players went over to their fans behind a goal to sing \u201cWonderwall.\u201d (The Oasis track has become England\u2019s unofficial anthem during the iconic tournament.)<\/p>\n

While celebrating, Henderson fell over an advertising board and remained down on the field. England captain Harry Kane<\/strong> saw what happened and motioned for first responders to assist.<\/p>\n

\u201cHendo just fell over there and I think he\u2019s OK, something to do with his arm,\u201d Kane told BBC<\/a>\u00a0after the freak accident.<\/p>\n

The England national soccer team lost 2-1 to the Spanish side at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, with William, 42, and Prince George, 10, watching on. The royals flew to Germany to support the England [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As a huddle was formed around him, Henderson began receiving medical treatment \u2014 including oxygen \u2014 before he was removed from the field on a stretcher.<\/p>\n

\u201cMixed feelings also because I\u2019m exhausted, of course, and emotional, but also sad because Jordan got injured,\u201d England coach Thomas Tuchel<\/strong> told reporters after the game, per NBC News<\/a>. \u201cHe injured his wrist. He\u2019s at the moment in the hospital, so it\u2019s a quite serious injury. And it just doesn\u2019t fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. I don\u2019t know the procedure, what\u2019s going on. I just did the press and the doctor told me that he\u2019s in [the] hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n

ESPN reported that Henderson stayed in Mexico City on Sunday with a member of the England entourage instead of flying back to the team\u2019s training set-up in Kansas City, Missouri. One day later, The Athletic<\/em> reported that Henderson would miss the remainder of the tournament and undergo surgery on his wrist.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is in a bit of bother, but our medical team have everything under control,\u201d England player Jude Bellingham<\/strong> said, referring to Henderson, per The Athletic<\/a><\/em>. \u201cI\u2019m not best to give too much detail as I do not know much going on, but everyone was there to support him.\u201d<\/p>\n
