Ethan Hawke<\/a> recently married Christian during a private Valentine\u2019s Day ceremony in New York City. <\/p>\nDiscussing her new move with People, Maya said: \u201cI just got myself a home a couple of blocks away from my mom.<\/p>\n

\nMaya\u2019s home purchase coincided with her filming Netflix\u2019s adaptation of Liz Moore\u2019s bestselling novel The God of the Woods, which is being shot across the Hudson River Valley and the Adirondack Mountains. <\/p>\n
\nMaya land a role on the show as she continues to build a career beyond her breakout role as Robin Buckley in Netflix\u2019s global hit Stranger Things, with the series having wrapped production on its fifth and final season in late 2025 ahead of its highly anticipated release.<\/p>\n
\nMaya\u2019s latest project is based on Liz Moore\u2019s bestselling 2024 novel and sees her play Judy Luptack, the first female investigator in a male-dominated Bureau of Criminal Investigation who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl from a summer camp.<\/p>\n
\nKerry Condon stars as Alice Van Laar, the missing child\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n
\nAccording to Netflix, the series is \u201ca multigenerational drama series set in the Adirondacks\u201d that explores the Van Laar family\u2019s history, class divisions and the disappearance of Barbara Van Laar, whose case uncovers long-buried secrets.<\/p>\n
\nMaya said about the project: \u201cIt shoots in the town that I grew up in.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe actress continued: \u201cI am so excited to be at home doing a job I love and care about, so I\u2019m not in that panic spiral of being home and being like, \u2018When will I ever work again?\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cUsually it\u2019s like, you\u2019re home, and you\u2019re panicked about whether you\u2019ll ever work again, or you\u2019re not home, and you\u2019re working and you miss home. I feel like I have the best summer of my life going on, where I get to experience neither thing at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShowrunners Liz Moore and Liz Hannah said in a statement released by Netflix: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be filming in the state that inspired the story and the region where it\u2019s actually set.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe Adirondacks have a fascinating history, and we feel inspired every time we\u2019re there by the park\u2019s beauty and complexity. We hope to do it justice on the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nProduced by Sony Pictures Television, the series also counts Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty among its executive producers.<\/p>\n
\nMaya\u2019s wedding earlier this year was attended by both of her parents despite their separation, with the actor wearing a custom Prada wedding dress and Christian choosing a custom Prada tuxedo. <\/p>\n
\nSeveral of Maya\u2019s Stranger Things co-stars, including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery were also present after the long-running Netflix series completed filming.<\/p>\n
\nAlongside her acting career, Maya has continued to establish herself as a musician, recently releasing the Audible Original The Summer Oath. <\/p>\n
\nHer screen work also includes Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Asteroid City, Inside Out 2 and Maestro, though Stranger Things remains the project most closely associated with her rise to international fame.<\/p>\n
