The Rolling Stones frontman was having trouble coming up with a name for the group’s 2023 record, Hackney Diamonds, so turned to the technology, and while it only offered “rubbish” suggestions, that gave the 82-year-old star more confidence in his own ideas.<\/p>\n
Asked if the group would use AI to write songs, Mick told Sunday Times Culture magazine: AI is a whole other conversation. The only time I used it was when I was looking for album titles for Hackney Diamonds, which was actually, I suppose, at the beginning of AI. <\/p>\n
“Because no one could agree, and I threw all these titles at it, and it came back with such rubbish, it didn\u2019t help me at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was saying, \u2018These are my 12 album titles, give me some more,\u2019 and of course in the end we never used any of them. But it can unstick you, and you think, \u2018OK, that was rubbish,\u2019 or \u2018Mine are loads better than yours.\u2019 It gives you confidence.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nDespite his recognisable tone, Mick’s bandmate, Keith Richards, thinks the frontman expresses himself better on harmonica than with his vocals.<\/p>\n
\nKeith said: \u201cMick expresses himself on harmonica probably in the fullest way that he can, even better than as a vocalist.”<\/p>\n
\nThe instrument is used to great effect on the band’s new album, Foreign Tongues, on a cover of Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good.<\/p>\n
\nRonnie Wood was a friend of the late singer – who died from accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011, aged 27 – and he is still saddened by her passing.<\/p>\n
\nHe recalled: \u201cShe would go: \u2018Oh Ronnie, what am I going to do?\u2019 I said: \u2018Look, everyone knows you\u2019ve got vodka in the water bottle. Get it together and get on stage.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n“But if you could get her up there and she stayed there, it\u2019d be great. I\u2019m sad because she didn\u2019t do her full span. It was like saying goodbye to Billie Holiday again.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nKeith regrets never getting to know the Rehab singer, though they played together at the 2007 Isle of Wight Festival.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI was always sort of \u2018well, I\u2019m bound to meet her down the road\u2019. You expect things to happen, and unfortunately no. But that\u2019s what records are for. I\u2019m just very glad and honoured to have played with her at least once.\u201d<\/p>\n
