UPDATE 7\/5\/23 6:01 p.m. \u2014 Amanza Smith<\/strong><\/a><\/b>\u00a0revealed via her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 4, that she has been discharged from the hospital.<\/p>\n \u201c31 days later and I\u2019m out!\u201d she captioned her social media update. \u201cLearning how to use my new antibiotic machine that will be permanently hooked to me 24\/7 for the next couple of weeks. #onthemend.\u201d<\/p>\n Original story below:<\/i><\/p>\n On the mend. Amanza Smith<\/strong><\/a> revealed that she\u2019s been in the hospital for several days receiving treatment for a blood infection.<\/p>\n The Selling Sunset<\/em><\/a> star, 46, broke the news to her Instagram followers on Sunday, June 11, sharing a video montage set to \u201cTitanium\u201d by David Guetta<\/strong><\/a> and Sia<\/strong><\/a>. The Netflix personality explained that her health issues began a month ago when she started experiencing \u201cexcruciating pain\u201d in her lower back. She initially believed she had a slipped disc, but after an MRI and a CT scan, doctors informed her that she should go to the hospital for further testing.<\/p>\n The real estate pro went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles earlier this month and was immediately admitted to the hospital. \u201cCome to find out I had an infection in my blood that had caused a great deal of infection to be spread to the bones of my spine and it\u2019s called osteomyelitis,\u201d Smith explained in her Instagram post. \u201cThe good thing about all of this I\u2019m in the best hospital and quite possibly the world and every doctor and every nurse has been right on top of everything to get the answers that we need to get me to where I need to be, which is better.\u201d<\/p>\n The Indiana native went on to say that doctors initially worried she had a tumor because the infection appeared that way on her MRI. \u201cEveryone was very scared, including myself,\u201d she wrote, noting that she\u2019s been taking antibiotics to treat the infection. \u201cHere I am day 10 and I\u2019m making this message a bit quickly because I\u2019m about to go into surgery to have portions of the infection removed from my spine that weren\u2019t getting any better. \u2026 I\u2019m still in pain, but I am hopeful that with the surgery my back pain will diminish.\u201d<\/p>\n In her video, Smith included screenshots of a missed call from her Selling Sunset<\/em> costar Mary Fitzgerald<\/strong><\/a> and a FaceTime session with her son. The former cheerleader shares daughter Noah and son Braker with ex Ralph Brown<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Smith\u2019s friends and colleagues flooded her post with messages of support, with several agents from The Oppenheim Group sending their best wishes for her health. \u201cYou\u2019re so strong Mama, sending you so much love \u2764\ufe0f,\u201d wrote Kayla Cardona<\/strong>, who stars on Selling the OC<\/em><\/a>. Cardona\u2019s costar Alexandra Jarvis<\/strong> chimed in to add, \u201cPraying for your complete recovery!\u201d<\/p>\n Nicole Young<\/strong><\/a>, who joined Selling Sunset<\/em> in season 6<\/a>, wrote: \u201cStrongest woman I know! I love you and yes, this too shall pass. I cannot wait to see NOT in excruciating pain.\u201d<\/p>\n Smith\u2019s blood infection comes just weeks after she confirmed she\u2019s cancer-free<\/a> after having a benign biopsy. During season 6 of Selling Sunset<\/em><\/a>, she revealed that she\u2019d been putting off having the biopsy after an unusual scan of her uterus. In May, however, Smith told fans that all was well.<\/p>\n \u201cThank you to everyone for your concerns and well wishes towards my health,\u201d she wrote via Instagram at the time. \u201cI am happy to tell you that I am in fact, not only cancer free, but also possibly aging backwards and happier than I\u2019ve been in forever! \u2665\ufe0f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd\ud83d\ude02 The results of my biopsy were benign! I I will continue to be grateful for my health, and even more so now than ever!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
