Sara Bareilles<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about the \u201ccrazy\u201d time she spent touring with rock band Maroon 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my god, it was crazy. It was crazy,\u201d the singer, 46, said in a clip of a recent Rolling Stone<\/em> interview shared via TikTok on Friday, July 3. \u201cI saw cocaine for the first time. Like, went to use the bathroom at a party and there was a little \u2014 this [does] not even belong to the band, this was one of those things where we\u2019re out and about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bareilles continued, \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh my god, that\u2019s cocaine.\u2019 Couldn\u2019t believe it. Still never done cocaine, guys. I don\u2019t do drugs. Except with therapists.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bareilles famous attended UCLA as the same time as Maroon 5 band members Ryan Dusick<\/strong> and Mickey Madden<\/strong>. (The band also consists of lead singer Adam Levine<\/strong><\/a>, PJ Morton<\/strong>, James Valentine<\/strong>, Nate Morton<\/strong>, James Carmichael<\/strong> and Matt Flynn<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

After college and establishing themselves in their respective singing careers, Bareilles has toured with Maroon 5 on multiple occasions, including the band\u2019s 2008 \u201cIt Won\u2019t Be Soon Before Long Tour\u201d and their 2012 \u201cHands All Over Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n

They took me on the road, our band, they took us under their wing, they shared everything they had.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cIt was \u2014 it was really awesome. I could not get over seeing all the girls. There was a lot of, like, literally throwing underwear. I thought it was, like, a trope that happened, but it\u2019s real. They just throw their underwear, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Did you bring two pairs?\u2019 is the first thing I think about, because if you\u2019re wearing a skirt and you sit down on a surface your vagina is touching the chair. So, this is where my mind goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a January 2014 interview with CBS News<\/a>, Bareilles opened up about how the members of Maroon 5 were able to alter the path of her singing career by showcasing her talents while touring.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose boys changed the trajectory of my life in a big way,\u201d she told the news outlet at the time. \u201cAnd yeah, I\u2019m forever grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
