\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Patti LuPone<\/strong><\/a> is making it known that she is not happy that the LGBTQ+ cruise she\u2019s scheduled to perform on is banned from entering Turkey.<\/p>\n The 77-year-old Broadway icon is scheduled to perform from July 5 though July 15 on a gay cruise aboard Virgin Voyages\u2019 Scarlet Lady.<\/p>\n On Friday (July 3), Patti<\/strong> took to Instagram<\/a> to share how \u201cfurious\u201d she is after learning that the gay cruise has been denied entry into the West Asian country.<\/p>\n \u201cI am shocked. The Atlantis cruise I am performing on next week has been banned from entering Turkey,\u201d Patti <\/strong>began. \u201cA ship \u2013 a magnificent ship \u2013 full of gay men. And me. Denied entry to Turkey simply because of who is on board.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am furious, but I am sailing, as the ship will make other ports to call,\u201d the three-time Tony winner continued. \u201cI am ready to perform for all the wonderful men on this Atlantis cruise, who deserve so much better than this.\u201d<\/p>\n The president and CEO of Atlantis Events, Rich Campbell<\/strong>, told CNN<\/a> that the reason why the \u201cAthens to Venice\u201d cruise will no longer be stopping in Turkey is simply because \u201ca gay group\u201d will be on board.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s pretty stunning, to be honest,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cIt\u2019s very concerning to me when a country decides they can pick and choose which tourists are allowed in and which are not.\u201d<\/p>\n Campbell<\/strong> also claimed that the incident marks the first time in 36 years that the company was \u201cactively told we may not berth here because of who we are.\u201d<\/p>\n The outlet also reported that authorities in Turkey stated that there was \u201cabsolutely no possibility of the group in question visiting our province for an event of this nature,\u201d claiming that the ship was chartered by groups \u201cknown for behaviors incompatible with the fabric of our society and moral values.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Patti <\/strong>gave an impassioned speech about protecting the Kennedy Center<\/a> following Trump<\/strong>\u2018s takeover.<\/p>\n Posted To:Patti LuPone<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n![\"Patti](\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/patti-gay-cruise-788x525.jpg\")
