Sullivan\u2019s Crossing<\/em>\u2018s Morgan Kohan<\/strong> is opening up about how Scott Patterson<\/strong>\u2018s exit<\/a> affected the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s interesting. There are always going to be different dynamics,\u201d Kohan, 32, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cOne of the things that came out of not having Sully on the show was we did get all these wonderful new characters too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kohan found it \u201creally nice\u201d getting to introduce new relationships on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I really loved was getting to do the flashbacks and really seeing the younger version of Maggie,\u201d she added to Us<\/em> about the season 4 change. \u201cSeeing her fully letting go and just going with what was happening in front of her \u2026 I\u2019ve really loved getting to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on the book series by Robyn Carr<\/strong><\/a>, Sullivan\u2019s Crossing<\/em> centers around neurosurgeon Maggie (Kohan) after she moves back home to rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father, Sully (Patterson). The brief getaway turns into Maggie making plans for a future in Sullivan\u2019s Crossing with love interest Cal (Chad Michael Murray<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Season 3 of the hit series, which started streaming on Netflix in August 2025, ended on a shocking note when Maggie and Cal\u2019s relationship was affected by her secret husband, Liam (Marcus Rosner<\/strong>), strolling into town.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the season, Sully left on a getaway with his girlfriend. Us<\/em> exclusively broke the news in March that Patterson, 67, ultimately exited the series before season 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeason 3 of Sullivan\u2019s Crossing ended with Sully leaving for Ireland, beginning a new chapter in his life. Season 4 picks up the next day, with Sully still overseas,\u201d Roth shared with Us<\/em>. \u201cWhile he isn\u2019t physically present in this season, the character remains an important part of the world with the potential to be included in future seasons should that align with the ongoing creative.\u201d<\/p>\n
