\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Taylor Sheridan<\/strong><\/a> is making rare comments about Kevin Costner<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Yellowstone<\/strong><\/em> exit. <\/p>\n The 56-year-old creator, writer and executive producer of the hit series opened up about the actor\u2019s exit<\/a> from the series, which happened in the middle of season five, leading to his character being killed off<\/a>. <\/p>\n While appearing on The Bill Simmons Podcast<\/a><\/em>, Taylor<\/strong> shared that it was originally in Kevin<\/strong>\u2018s contract that he was \u201conly supposed to be in the first three seasons.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThat was in his contract. In my mind, that\u2019s when his youngest son takes over [on the show]\u2026 But the network was so scared of not having Kevin<\/strong> be a part of it, even though Kevin<\/strong> was ready,\u201d he said. \u201cHe was ready to go. He had other things he wanted to do, but he stayed on for another two seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n The show\u2019s creator added that Kevin continued to be on the show because \u201cit was such a behemoth\u201d and \u201csuch a huge hit.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThe notion of giving up a hit before it had run out of juice to squeeze is very foreign to a network,\u201d Taylor<\/strong> shared. \u201cThere was even pressure from some of the cable companies wanting to put it in their deals, that they were going to get an X-number of seasons of Yellowstone<\/em> to re-up what this cable company is.
