There\u2019s a big change happening behind the scenes at Dutton Ranch<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The hit Yellowstone<\/em> spinoff, led by Kelly Reilly<\/strong><\/a><\/strong> and Cole Hauser<\/strong><\/a><\/strong> as fan-favorite couple Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, has found its new showrunner for season 2.<\/p>\n

Benjamin Cavell will be the new Dutton Ranch<\/em> showrunner for season 2<\/h3>\n

Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em> confirms that Benjamin Cavell<\/strong> has been tapped to take over as showrunner and executive producer for the next season of the Paramount+ drama, according to a new report. He replaces season 1 showrunner Chad Feehan<\/strong>, who exited the series before its May premiere.<\/p>\n

Benjamin<\/strong> is no stranger to high-stakes television. His credits include creating SEAL Team<\/em>, working as a writer and producer on Justified<\/em>, and writing for shows including Homeland<\/em> and Sneaky Pete<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dutton Ranch<\/em> has been hugely successful for Paramount+<\/h3>\n

The move comes shortly after Dutton Ranch<\/em> was renewed for season 2 following a massive launch. Paramount+ previously announced that the show drew 12.9 million global viewers in its first week, making it the biggest original series debut in the streamer\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

The series follows Beth and Rip as they leave Montana behind and try to build a new life in South Texas, only to face brutal new threats and a rival ranch determined to protect its own empire.<\/p>\n

Stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly comment on the show changes<\/h3>\n

Chad<\/strong>, who remains credited as creator and executive producer on season 1, has not publicly commented on his exit.<\/p>\n

Cole<\/strong> previously addressed the behind-the-scenes change, telling The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, \u201cShowrunners change all the time. This business is about adapting. We\u2019ve been doing this for a long time. Things change. People move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly<\/strong> also reflected on finishing the first season in the same interview, saying, \u201cWe finished [season one] with Chad<\/strong> beautifully.\u00a0We finished this season together. It was a really difficult but really satisfying show to make. And so was Yellowstone<\/em>. So is anything worth making.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cWe\u2019re all creative minds and we all work together and I\u2019m so proud of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 1 of Dutton Ranch<\/strong> wraps up on Friday, July 3 on Paramount+.<\/p>\n
