Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex granted restraining order<\/p>\n
\nTate – the dad of Taylor\u2019s kids Indy, 8, and six-year-old Ocean – filed the motion in a Utah court on Tuesday (30Jun26) according to court documents obtained by People. <\/p>\n
\nThe 34-year-old, who was married to Taylor between 2016 and 2022, also filed a petition to modify their divorce agreement and custody agreement terms.<\/p>\n
\nNews of Tate\u2019s move comes amid reports that Taylor voluntarily entered rehab to seek help amid the other legal battle she\u2019s in the midst of with ex Dakota Mortensen. <\/p>\n

\nA source told People that the 32-year-old Mormon \u201cchecked into a facility upon the recommendation of her doctor, adding that it was a \u201cvoluntary\u201d stay which has now ended. <\/p>\n
\nThe insider added to the outlet: \u201cShe’s committed to getting better.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNot only that but \u201cthe people around Taylor want her to get help and \u201cget better\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nThe source also said: \u201cEveryone is just trying to protect the kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTaylor is also mum to two-year-old son Ever, whose dad is Dakota. <\/p>\n
\nIn April (26), Taylor and Dakota were granted mutual protective orders against each other for the next three years. <\/p>\n
\nThe exes are both claiming the other acted violently in a series of altercations in February, with Commissioner Russell Minas making the ruling, adding at the time that the pair can’t be in the same place together for long before “it turns violent\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nIt was the first time Taylor and Dakota had appeared in public together since the news broke of domestic violence investigations. <\/p>\n
\nWith Minas adding: “I’m finding that there’s been violence both ways between these parties.” Describing their dynamic as “toxic” and “dysfunctional”, he urged Taylor and Dakota to put their son first, while reminding them that they will be “linked together for the remainder of [their] lives”. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: “You guys have to figure out a lot here. You have to figure out how to function as co-parents.” <\/p>\n
\nMinas described that as the former couple’s “legacy”, insisting that how they “deal with conflict” could “affect” Ever as he grows up. <\/p>\n
\nThe commissioner also noted that for the time being, “what’s best” for Ever is to make sure his parents are not allowed to “be in the same place at the same time”. <\/p>\n
\nIn response to the ruling, Taylor’s lawyer Eric M. Swinyard told People magazine that the decision was a “significant step forward”. <\/p>\n
\nHe added: “Taylor was incredibly candid with the Court that she is not perfect and owned her faults, which is in direct contrast to how the other party presented their argument, despite evidence and input from law enforcement that showed otherwise. <\/p>\n
\n“Taylor feels solidarity with the many survivors who have endured similar hardships behind closed doors and shared only part of their stories.” <\/p>\n
\nThe attorney also said Taylor “remains grateful for the outpouring of support she continues to receive” and “looks forward to continuing to cooperate with the court to make progress in the custody case”. <\/p>\n
\nPolice previously declined to press charges on the domestic violent allegations. Utah\u2019s Draper Police Department told Deadline in a statement: \u201cAfter reviewing reports and evidence submitted to the Draper Police Department and West Jordan Police Department, the Salt Lake County District Attorney\u2019s Office has declined to file charges against Taylor Frankie Paul.\u201d<\/p>\n
