TikTok<\/a>, one user wrote: \u201cIf you are 100% certain that the accusations against you are lies, my suggestion would be to take him to court and sue him for defamation!\u201d<\/p>\nObviously, if Collin is \u201clying,\u201d Kate couldn\u2019t possibly know everything that he has to say in his memoir, could she?<\/p>\n
While we puzzle over that head-scratcher, we\u2019ll acknowledge that we\u2019ve all seen defamation suits brought forward. Some even win on spurious grounds, even when the defendant is being entirely truthful.<\/p>\n
With that in mind, it\u2019s a great question. Why not sue Collin? Surely the woman who ruined his childhood can also ruin his book launch, right?<\/p>\n
Kate actually replied to the commenter, offering an explanation of sorts.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t bc I\u2019m a public figure,\u201d she claimed in her response.<\/p>\n
\u201cRules are different unfortunately,\u201d Kate alleged.<\/p>\n
She then wrote: \u201cOr I def would!\u201d<\/p>\n
Not everyone believes her explanation. But she soon doubled down, explaining further.<\/p>\n
\u2018I tried :(\u2018<\/h2>\n \u201cMalice is one of the hardest things to prove,\u201d the widely reviled reality TV alum wrote. \u201cI tried :(.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kate then alleged: \u201cThe rules are different for ppl in the public eye.\u201d<\/p>\n
She went on to describe: \u201cI consulted a high power LA attorney (you\u2019ve definitely heard of him) years ago when other ppl were putting crazy stuff out there and that\u2019s what he said.\u201d<\/p>\n
Most people do not believe that Collin\u2019s accounts of his childhood are \u201ccrazy.\u201d That seems to be a problem for Kate.<\/p>\n
According to her: \u201cThe courts don\u2019t honor it if you\u2019re in the public eye :(\u201d<\/p>\nAs Collin Gosselin shares his painful personal story in a memoir, he knows that there are millions of other children who have suffered in their own ways. A separate commenter asked her if she might consider taking a lie-detector test.<\/p>\n
Kate simply replied: \u201cHa!\u201d<\/p>\n
Though she is one of the most widely despised former reality TV stars by many, some would argue that lie detector tests are famously unreliable and not exactly admissible in court. Not to defend her, but it would be a fool\u2019s errand in many situations.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll all look forward to reading Collin\u2019s memoir when it releases in October.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
