The former President of the United States and his First Lady, who had their first date at a museum, have opened up about the new museum, library and education project in Chicago, which is found on a 19.3-acre campus on the south side of the city and also features event spaces and public parks.<\/p>\n
In an Instagram post, Michelle wrote: “Barack and I went to a museum on our first date.<\/p>\n
“So take it from us: the Obama Presidential Center campus has just the right vibe for you and your boo.”<\/p>\n

In a video shared with her follows, Michelle described the centre as a perfect date spot for her and her husband.<\/p>\n
\nAs Barack laughed, she added: “This would’ve been like ‘Oh, this dude is cool.’ “<\/p>\n
\nShe described it as a “sexy environment”, and insisted: “This is a date vibe.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Presidential Center also includes a textile installation from Nick Cave and Marie Watt, plus artwork by Mark Bradford.<\/p>\n
\nMichelle said: “And there are those comfy sofas after you’ve had a date, and then you put your arm around your date, and then we talk about life, and it gives you a chance to see if your date knows anything about the world.”<\/p>\n
\nShe encouraged potential couples to enjoy a drink at Tarafi’s Kitchen, named in honour of former White House chef Tafari Campbell.<\/p>\n
\nAnd Michelle pointed out “there’s nothing more romantic” than getting to sit out on the grass with a blanket.<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, the famous couple recently reflected on the early days of their relationship in Chicago.<\/p>\n
\nMichelle said: \u201cWhen we started dating, he was renting a crappy little apartment on 53rd Street from a friend. No AC. Windows were open. Saturday nights would be crazy. Baskin-Robbins was a place we\u2019d go to get ice cream. He wrote about our first kiss being there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBarack added: \u201cSitting on the curb. There\u2019s a plaque there now. I don\u2019t know who put that up.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLooking back on the beginning of their relationship, Barack said he immediately recognised Michelle\u2019s character.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI knew almost immediately, and looks like I made a pretty good bet, that this was a one-of-a-kind woman with the integrity and character, smarts and values to make me better.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBarack continued: \u201cJust being with her made me better, and she still does. And that she would give our kids a foundation that would pay off for them \u2013 and that\u2019s in fact what\u2019s happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
