Joshua Jackson<\/a>, her ex-husband, are parents to Juno, who was born in April 2020, and Jodie has now revealed how they’ve dealt with their divorce around their daughter.<\/p>\nThe actress – who was married to Joshua between 2019 and 2025 – said on Hoda Kotb’s Joy 101 podcast: “I\u2019m a child of divorce, myself, and so is my ex-husband.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s always been important to think about what is the language around which we are going to talk about this with our daughter because this is her new reality.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re learning as well and not always getting it totally right, but the idea is always two homes filled with love. I\u2019m like, \u2018You got two houses, girl.\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nJodie admits it’s tough to strike the right balance as a parent and a divorcee.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “You got to walk this line between, obviously, being age appropriate and child-centered in the way that you talk about it. But also keeping it real, so that she has an understanding of what this means.”<\/p>\n
\nThe actress has leaned on some expert advice to help to navigate the issue.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: “I read her so many books about divorce, about what that means. About what that new world is, about what is supposed to be happening, what\u2019s not supposed to be happening. <\/p>\n
\n“Children\u2019s books have been helpful as well.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Jodie previously explained that she’s loving the challenges of motherhood.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress insisted that motherhood is her “favourite” thing in the world.<\/p>\n
\nDuring an appearance on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Jodie explained: “Honestly, it\u2019s my favourite thing about myself is that I\u2019m that girl\u2019s mother. <\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m just so grateful that she chose me to be her mom; that I got to have that gift in life. It is my favourite thing. I mean, I just, it is an honour.”<\/p>\n
\nJodie ultimately feels that it’s her “birthright to mother”.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I feel like it was our birthright to mother – whether we bring our children or not, I think it’s is a woman\u2019s birthright. <\/p>\n
\n“We hold space for those around us. It has shifted everything about me. It has only enriched me. It has shown me, number one, how powerful I am. Like, whoa! It\u2019s like, supreme being – wow!”<\/p>\n
