\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Rhaenyra and Alicent have a ton of history between them\u2026but things just got taken to a whole new level in the latest episode of House of the Dragon<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Season 3, Episode 2 just aired on Sunday night (June 28) on HBO and HBO Max.<\/p>\n The final moments of the episode saw Emma D\u2019Arcy<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Rhaenyra and Matt Smith<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Daemon overtaking King\u2019s Landing. They aimed to kill Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney<\/strong>) in order to give Rhaenyra her rightful place on the Iron Throne.<\/p>\n However, he was nowhere to be found, as they do not know he is on the run. Daemon finds another option in the dungeons \u2013 Alicent\u2019s dad Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Rhaenyra beheads him while sobbing, and claims the throne.<\/p>\n In that moment, Alicent (Olivia Cooke<\/strong><\/a>) is brought in by guards as she\u2019s been caught trying to escape.<\/p>\n As Rhaenyra is sitting on the Iron Throne in her first official moments as Queen, Alicent sees her father\u2019s head on the ground, and locks eyes with her once-best friend.<\/p>\n About the moment that Rhaenyra and Alicent lock eyes after the killing of Otto, Emma <\/strong>told The Wrap<\/a>, \u201cI wanted her to be sort of uncomfortably revealed, actually, I think that\u2019s probably what Alicent\u2019s gaze does. She sees through any of the any artifice or armor that Rhaenyra might have built up.\u201d<\/p>\n Olivia <\/strong>added of the moment: \u201cI think she feels incredibly betrayed, and like she was caught up in yet another person\u2019s scheming \u2026 it feels like it was all for nothing, and she\u2019s in a worse position than where she started. I don\u2019t know \u2026 how that relationship can move on from that, at that point \u2026 it\u2019s a huge betrayal.\u201d<\/p>\n Olivia<\/strong>, meanwhile, said there is \u201ccarnage\u201d up next.<\/p>\n \u201cNo one\u2019s having a good time, basically, but there\u2019s fantastic new characters and different dynamics with original characters that that we see for the first time.
