The French actress is making her debut in the third season of the hit Netflix series as Aunt Ophelia but production had to be paused after she suffered a “nasty” injury on set in Dublin, Ireland.<\/p>\n
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: \u201cThis was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances.<\/p>\n
\u201cMedics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Production was paused while 45-year-old Eva sought treatent earlier this month, causing changes to the filming schedule.<\/p>\n
\nThe Miss Peregrine\u2019s Home For Peculiar Children actress’ casting in Wednesday was announced last November, quashing speculation Lady Gaga’s brief appearance as Rosalyn Rottwood could lead to her being revealed as Ophelia Frump.<\/p>\n
\nEva said at the time: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can\u2019t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd programme bosses were delighted to add Eva to the cast of Wednesday, which features Jenna Ortega in the title role, Catherine Zeta Jones and Luis Guzman as her parents Morticia and Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as her brother Pugsley.<\/p>\n
\nCreators, showrunners, and writers Al Gough and Miles Millar previously said: “Eva Green has always brought an exhilarating, singular presence to the screen \u2014 elegant, haunting, and beautifully unpredictable. Those qualities make her the perfect choice for Aunt Ophelia. We\u2019re excited to see how she transforms the role and expands Wednesday\u2019s world.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWednesday is Netflix’s most popular English language series, and each episode is estimated to cost around $15 million to create.<\/p>\n
\nA source said: \u201cWednesday is a huge priority for Netflix.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut since it became such a streaming success, the producers have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep the production secret.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe budget for the show is enormous. No expense has been spared in securing huge name actors.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEach episode is estimated to cost around \u00a315million to create.<\/p>\n
