Millie Bobby Brown is friends with Tom Cruise<\/p>\n
The Stranger Things actress has compared herself to the Mission: Impossible star because she likes to get involved in her own stunt work, just as Tom famously does, and she’s revealed he is very encouraging of her trying ne things.<\/p>\n
Asked if she knows Tom during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Millie said: “He’s a dear friend. He’s a wonderful man and I’m very lucky to call him my friend.<\/p>\n
“Tom does the craziest stuff. I think he’s trying to get me to somehow fly a plane at some point.<\/p>\n
“[I’ve actually] flown his helicopter before.<\/p>\n
\n“I was like, ‘This is the last time I ever fly any of his equipment.”<\/p>\n
\nThe 22-year-old star admitted it is a “thrilling experience” for her to do her own stunts in her movies and she hopes other actresses will be encouraged to do the same.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I really want young girls to think they can, you know? You’ll always hear an older actor say, ‘Don’t do your own stunts,’ and I get that. <\/p>\n
\n“But back in the day, they might have been throwing you against a wall, and now, if you get a really great stunt coordinator and you learn how to land and you learn the whole technique of it, we as actors should know how to do certain things.”<\/p>\n
\nShe joked: “I try to do 90% and the 10% is probably, you know, in my contract that I’m not allowed, even though I beg.”<\/p>\n
\nMillie is currently promoting her latest movie, Enola Holmes 3, and she is “really proud” to play the titular detective.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I’m really proud to be able to bring [Enola] to screen. Especially when young girls come up to me and say how much they love her.”<\/p>\n
\nMillie previously told how she felt like “the female version of Tom Cruise” when discussing doing her own stunts for Damsel.<\/p>\n
\nShe told talk show host Drew Barrymore: “You’re just like, \u2018Am I really gonna do that stunt?’ And then that day they’re like, \u2018Yep, put the harness on,’ and I just, like, did the stunt as if it wasn’t, you know, Tom Cruise\u2013level stuff. I felt like Tom Cruise.”<\/p>\n
\nWhen Drew praised the Top Gun actor as “the coolest”, Millie agreed: “So cool. In this film, I feel like the female version of Tom Cruise.”<\/p>\n
\n“I did all my own stunts from start to finish. And I’m really scared about doing my own stunts. Stunts are scary. … You’re just like, ‘I’m not physically trained to do this.’ “<\/p>\n
