Off Campus<\/em><\/a> Louisa Levy<\/strong> creator revealed that season 2 is going to look a little different \u2014 and not just because of that cast exit.<\/p>\n

Levy teased what fans can expect<\/a> during Prime Video\u2019s Obsessed Fest on Saturday, June 27, saying, \u201cThere\u2019s going to be less live songs. Because we don\u2019t have all of Hannah\u2019s songwriting journey to play into.\u201d<\/p>\n

Levy acknowledged that Josh Heuston\u2019s departure also played a role.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t have Josh and After Hours this season so we don\u2019t have those bands,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut we still have a lot of music in other ways. We will still have some light music in the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Levy concluded: \u201cI still think the heart of the show lives in those needle drops and those songs that underscore a moment \u2014 as well as the actual score.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on the Off-Campus<\/em> book series by Elle Kennedy<\/strong><\/a>, the show, follows an elite ice hockey team \u2014 and the women in their lives \u2014 as they \u201cgrapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery \u2014 forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood,\u201d read the official synopsis.<\/p>\n

Season 1 is centered around the \u201csexy and fun \u2018opposites attract\u2019 romance between quiet songwriter, Hannah, and Briar University\u2019s all-star hockey athlete, Garrett.\u201d (The show introduces characters played by Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks<\/strong> and Stephen Kalyn<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

After the show was renewed,<\/a> Levy confirmed earlier this year that Justin wouldn\u2019t appear in season 2, telling TV Guide, \u201cNot next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cWe never got a chance to meet Stella, who is the person he ends up with in the book. So maybe we\u2019ll find a way to fold him into a future season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Levy noted that it wasn\u2019t always the plan for Justin to be absent. \u201cWe don\u2019t have him [available] next season, but never say never,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Heuston, 29, meanwhile, spoke exclusively to Us Weekly<\/em> about a possible return, saying, \u201cThat\u2019s above my pay grade but I just hope Justin finds love and continues to be happy while writing music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor had hope that Justin would do \u201call right\u201d for himself.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cJustin is following his heart. He\u2019s a little lover boy at heart,\u201d he noted. \u201cI think things went the way that they went but I think he\u2019ll just continue to do that. He\u2019ll probably go write some nice music about how heartbroken he is and then come back and try to find his love.\u201d<\/p>\n
