Justin Bieber<\/strong><\/a> is showing support for his home town\u2019s professional ice hockey team!<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old \u201cLove Yourself\u201d singer is from Canada and has been a proud fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/strong> since he was young. He was invited to day one of the 2026 NHL Draft<\/em> in Buffalo, New York on Friday (June 26) to announce this year\u2019s top overall pick.<\/p>\n

In a video shared by the official Maple Leafs X account<\/a>, Justin<\/strong> is shown walking out in red track jacket featuring the Maple Leafs emblem as he greets the crowd and makes his way down to the main stage to chat with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

During his walk to the stage, the multi-Grammy winner shared how \u201cgrateful\u201d he was to be there as someone who has been \u201ca Leafs fan since I was just a little boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMan, what an incredible night. Awe, man, the child in me is ecstatic right now,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Once on stage, Justin<\/strong> announced 18-year-old Gavin McKenna<\/strong> as the 2026 NHL Draft\u2019s top pick.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. McKenna, we would like to draft you to the Toronto Maple Leafs,\u201d Justin said.<\/p>\n

Gavin<\/strong> was named one of the \u201cBig 10 freshman of the year\u201d after his \u201cfirst season at Penn State,\u201d and he ranked fifth in NCAA scoring. The announcer revealed he is the highest-drafted player ever from the Yukon region of Canada. Fittingly, Justin<\/strong>\u2018s song \u201cYukon\u201d started playing during the pivotal moment.<\/p>\n

With the hit HBO show Heated Rivalry<\/strong><\/a><\/em> becoming an international hit, many new fans have been discovering hockey and the NHL actually responded to the increased interest generated by the show\u2019s popularity<\/a> earlier this year!<\/p>\n
