Sharon Stone<\/strong><\/a> reflected on an \u201cearly experience\u201d with death after her high school prom date died in a drunk driving accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey had asked me to speak at his funeral,\u201d Stone, 68, said on CNN Podcasts\u2019 \u201cAll There Is With Anderson Cooper\u201d episode<\/a>, released on Thursday, June 25. \u201cI walked up to the podium, his casket was there. His mom had put our picture in his pocket.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThen, the entire football team came and filed in, and stood in the back of the funeral home. I looked at them, and they looked so young. I just remember thinking, \u2018You\u2019re all children.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Stone had this \u201cincredibly weird thought\u201d at that moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will never be young again,\u201d she said. \u201cI got down off the podium and left. I didn\u2019t talk. I just got down and walked out of the funeral home and walked down the street and left.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Basic Instinct actress, 66, opened up about the near-death experience in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Tuesday, July 9, telling the outlet that the people around her \u201ctook advantage\u201d of her during her [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Her prom date, Ray Butterfield<\/strong>, died while riding his motorcycle. According to Stone, a drunk driver \u201cran him off the road\u201d and continued driving.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis motorcycle flipped over and he broke his jaw,\u201d Stone continued. \u201cBecause this drunk did not stop, he choked to death on his own blood. There was nothing else wrong with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress recalled working as a manager at a Bob\u2019s Big Boy restaurant the night he died.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had closed out the register and come home quite late, one or two o\u2019clock in the morning, and I knew something was terribly wrong,\u201d she continued. \u201cI remember sitting in the living room, on the edge of the sofa, against the arm of the sofa all night. Just at dawn, as the sun started to come up, the phone rang.\u201d<\/p>\n

Butterfield\u2019s mom called Stone at home and started crying.<\/p>\n
