Yes, we regret to inform you that he, like millions of other actual adults, was born in 2002.)<\/p>\n<p>To mark the occasion, he released the \u201cThe Time of My Life\u201d music video, which showcases him and Alix Earle as the stars of a dramatic love story.<\/p>\n<p>The fantasy romance takes the two sword fighting, dragonslaying, and marrying before exchanging a kiss.<\/p>\n<p>To be clear, this is a music video \u2014 this is an acting role for Alix. Though, in cases like Sam Asghari or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2022\/05\/chrishell-stause-and-g-flip-make-out-in-steamy-music-video-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chrishell Stause<\/a>, sometimes getting cast is just the first step towards a long-term relationship.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Benson Boone - The Time Of My Life (Official Music Video)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ptlsli-QXXc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Whatever you may think of Boone \u2014 or Earle, for that matter \u2014 it\u2019s an adventurous video that you don\u2019t see so much anymore.<\/p>\n<p>The fantasy vibes are great. Specifically, parts of it have a sword &amp; sorcery energy, a fun sub genre that is increasingly scarce in a world where businessbrained prudes run most entertainment companies.<\/p>\n<p>The two spent a week filming.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/06\/25\/alix-earle-and-benson-boone-kiss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TMZ<\/a><\/em>\u2018s sources reported that they had incredible chemistry during the music video.<\/p>\n<p>We know that people make <em>soaking<\/em> jokes, but Boone is actually no longer Mormon. After all, doing the choreography to Britney\u2019s greatest hits was an unwitting right of passage for millions of gay Millennials \u2014 sometimes, before they knew that they were gay.<\/p>\n<p>However, we have to emphasize that <em>queerbaiting <\/em>is a specific term with a specific meaning. A singer adopting specific looks or doing specific dances might prompt some to assume his sexuality, but that\u2019s not what that means.<\/p>\n<p>Queerbaiting very specifically refers to a piece of media winking and nudging at viewers that a couple will get together, while knowing full well that \u2014 due to censorship or the showrunner\u2019s preference \u2014 they will not.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DZ78JDNu9BP\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>Others have accused Boone of being a closeted man who is <em>straightbaiting <\/em>with Earle. <\/p>\n<p>Though <em>Will &amp; Grace<\/em> was arguably a genuine case of straightbaiting (the show was pitched as a will-they-or-won\u2019t-they, even though obviously they would not), that\u2019s not <em>really <\/em>a thing either.<\/p>\n<p>Boone has repeatedly avoided comparisons to music legends, insisting that he\u2019s just being himself.<\/p>\n<p>We should probably let him. He\u2019s barely 24. Remember 2012?
