Daryl Hall reveals kidney transplant<\/p>\n
The 79-year-old Hall Oates star took to Instagram to reveal he had undergone the operation earlier this month (Jun26) – with the kidney donated by a \u201ckind and generous living donor\u201d. <\/p>\n
He wrote: \u201cI thought you should know that I recently received a kidney transplant from a very kind and generous living donor.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt happened a couple of weeks ago, and I’m already starting to feel better.\u201d<\/p>\n
Daryl added that his doctors had told him the procedure was a \u201ccomplete success\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nHe concluded by saying that he\u2019s hoping to be \u201cback to normal in a few months\u201d, as he said: \u201cGet ready for more music and lots of Daryl’s House shows. You all take care.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe You Make My Dreams (Come True) singer didn\u2019t give any further details about why he\u2019d had the operation.<\/p>\n
\nMessages of support quickly flooded in on the Instagram post, with singer Bebe Buell writing: \u201cSending you love and healing thoughts, Daryl!! We were just kids when we met but it doesn\u2019t change the memories that are forever\u2026 the good stuff. The laughs and the times when you were a real friend. Beyond some of the crazy drama of that time\u2026<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou\u2019ve always been complex and brilliant. Heal swiftly and well, and bless us with some great new music!!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs fellow musician Nooch added: \u201cDaryl prayers to you bro! Would love to have you come through the Front Porch! Daryl\u2019s house was a big inspiration for me!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDaryl revealed back in 2005 that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking previously about battling the disease, Daryl said that when it\u2019s bad, it\u2019s awful – so much so that in 2005, at the time of his diagnosis, he was forced to cancel tour dates because he was so ill.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI have good days and bad days. I was fine for four months then I might have tremors, headaches, fatigue. It’s like a roving street gang of germs. There’s no cure, but you can control it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt manifests in so many ways. It can lead to heart disease, depression. It can be so serious that people have died. It’s a battle.\u201d<\/p>\n
