autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>In his filing, Jermaine complains that press coverage of the default judgment ruined \u201cwhat should have been a proud and important professional moment for my son and our family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to claim that he felt \u201cshocked and deeply concerned about the effect of those reports on my reputation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jermaine continued: \u201cAnd on the promotion of my son\u2019s motion picture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His reputation notwithstanding, it\u2019s hard to say that anything about the allegations against Jermaine damaged the film\u2019s promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Surely, anyone willing to attend <em>Michael <\/em>despite the subject matter \u2014 or how it avoids the subject matter \u2014 wasn\u2019t going to be troubled by the lead actor\u2019s father facing an allegation. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Michael | Official Trailer\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3zOLzsbOleM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-did-the-scandal-really-interfere-with-the-success-of-the-film\">Did the scandal really interfere with the success of the film?<\/h2>\n<p>As we previously reported, Barrett alleges that Jermaine sexually assaulted her in 1988.<\/p>\n<p>According to her lawsuit, he showed up at her home uninvited and then raped her before abruptly leaving.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, money is the best justice that one can hope to get in America.
