Actress Drena De Niro, 55, first said online Leandro De Niro Rodriguez had died aged 19 on Sunday (02.07.23) and on Monday (03.07.23) followed up the statement with another that revealed she is \u201cinconsolable\u201d with grief. <\/p>\n
\u2018Raging Bull\u2019 star Robert\u2019s adopted daughter said: \u201cIt is with immeasurable shock and sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved son Leo. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank you for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we are given privacy at this time to process this inconsolable grief.\u201d<\/p>\n
Drena, who is the eldest of Robert\u2019s seven children, told in her Instagram post on Sunday how her \u201cbeautiful sweet angel\u201d had died. <\/p>\n
\nShe added alongside a picture of her with her only child: \u201cI have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nDrena added about the rising acting star she has no idea how to \u201clive without\u201d her son but vowed to \u201ctry to go on and spread the love and light\u201d that he made her feel in \u201cgetting to be (his) mama\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nLeandro\u2019s graffiti artist dad Carlos \u2018Mare\u2019 Rodriguez initially posted a black square to his Instagram page when news broke of his boy\u2019s death. <\/p>\n
\nHe commented on Drena\u2019s post announcing his son had passed away around the same time paparazzi photographed him weeping outside the actress\u2019 home in Manhattan: \u201cWords aren\u2019t enough to express the joy he gave us or the loss we now endure with our families and friends. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe is God\u2019s child now. On this full moon his spirit luminates what could not be seen in the dark. You can\u2019t spell LOVE without LEO.\u201d <\/p>\n
\n\u2018Heat\u2019 star Robert, 79, said in a statement on Monday (03.07.23) via his representative he is \u201cdeeply distressed\u201d over the passing of his \u201cbeloved grandson\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nIt added: \u201cWe\u2019re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nHe also asked for \u201cprivacy to grieve\u201d the \u201closs of Leo\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nThe teen\u2019s official cause of death has not yet been disclosed after he was found lifeless at a $950,000, one-bedroom apartment in the Cipriani Club Residences on Wall Street. <\/p>\n
\nTMZ has reported his death is being investigated as a possible drugs overdose, while the Daily Mail said he was found sitting on a chair with a white powdery substance on a plate near his body.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
