The 48-year-old music star – who has previously dated the likes of Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston<\/a>, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift – and Kat “are no longer seeing each other and split a few months ago”.<\/p>\n

The source told Us Weekly: “It wasn\u2019t a dramatic split, the relationship just fizzled out.<\/p>\n

“They realised they have very different lifestyles but it was a lot of fun while it lasted and are still friends.”<\/p>\n

Kat, who is a mom, always felt slightly anxious about the idea of John meeting her daughter.<\/p>\n

\nThe insider shared: “Kat was always hesitant bringing her daughter around someone she was dating and both of their busy schedules made it hard to navigate.”<\/p>\n

\nThe pair started dating in 2025, and according to a source, John “sought her out and pursued her” at the time.<\/p>\n

\nThe insider told Us Weekly last year: “Kat just broke up with someone she had been dating for a few months and thought it would be fun to date again, and was interested in John.”<\/p>\n

\nThe chart-topping star opened up about his love life last year, revealing that he was still single at the time.<\/p>\n

\nJohn also confirmed that he’d love to tie the knot one day, and despite his previous heartbreaks, he’s still very optimistic of finding his ideal woman.<\/p>\n

\nSpeaking to Will Arnett at SmartLess Live in June 2025, he was asked: “It’s not easy for John Mayer to date. In all seriousness, like, what are you going to do? It’s tough to meet people.”<\/p>\n

\nJohn then replied: “I would not date someone if it didn’t have the upward mobility of becoming a marriage … every girlfriend would be a potential wife at this point.”<\/p>\n

\nJohn also revealed some of his dating fears.<\/p>\n

\nThe music star explained: “I think that younger people need to get a head start on being more vulnerable. Being sarcastically invulnerable and apathetic is a really good healing mechanism to get over the past breakup.<\/p>\n

\n“I fear there’s a generation of … people, men and women, who have decided to come into relationships in a very inflexible, sarcastic [way].”<\/p>\n
