\u201cMiss my gorgeous prodigal grandson @carsonrowland!\u201d Caroline Lagerfelt<\/strong><\/a>, who portrays Paula Vreeland on the Netflix series, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on June 14, sharing two pictures with Rowland, 28, who portrayed her grandson, Tyler \u201cTy\u201d Townsend, from season 1 to 4.<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cThank you for all your love \u2026. And come home!\u2665\ufe0f\ud83c\udf38\ud83c\udf38\ud83c\udf38.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the selfie \u2014 which appeared to be recent \u2014 and the picture of Lagerfelt, 78, with Rowland on set in the past caused a stir, it was Rowland\u2019s comment that has fans thinking a Sweet Magnolias<\/em> return isn\u2019t out of the question.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, grandma does know best \u2764\ufe0f,\u201d Rowland wrote in the comments section, seemingly hinting that he could be coming \u201chome\u201d to the show during season 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rowland, 28, will have a \u201crecurring role\u201d on NBC\u2019s The Rockford Files, Deadline reported on Thursday, June 11. While Ty\u2019s absence for part of season 4 was explained when he chose to prioritize his music career and go on tour, fans were hopeful he\u2019d be back in a full-time capacity for season 5 when it premiered<\/a> on June 11.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for those fans, Sweet Magnolias<\/em> showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson<\/strong> exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in late May that Rowland made the \u201cdecision\u201d to sit out for season 5.<\/p>\n
