Ahead of the event, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/tags\/flavor-flav\/\" class=\"celebrity-tag-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"celebrity-tag-strong\">Flavor Flav<\/strong><\/a> and his manager <strong>Rhiannon Rae Ellis<\/strong> traveled to France to talk about SHE Weekend during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and they opened up about the inspiration for it all.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SHE WEEKEND x CANNES LIONS\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EUUCKonFuTI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Flav<\/strong> and <strong>Rhiannon<\/strong> chatted with <strong>Evin Shutt<\/strong>, the global CEO of 72andSunny, to share everything fans need to know about SHE Weekend. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Flav<\/strong> gave all the credit to <strong>Rhiannon<\/strong>. \u201cIt all started from the mastermind over here\u2026 It was a very, very, very good idea to say, \u2018You know what? Trump is doing these girls bad. Flav, bring them to Vegas.\u2019 That\u2019s where it all came from,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea for the Vegas celebration happened after <strong>Trump <\/strong>joked about feeling obligated to invite the U.S. Women\u2019s Hockey Team to the White House after their Olympics gold medal win, an invite that they declined. He begrudgingly said that he\u2019d \u201cprobably be impeached\u201d if he didn\u2019t invite the women alongside the men\u2019s team, who also won a gold medal. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Flav<\/strong> added, \u201cI was praying and praying to God that Trump saw it. You know what I\u2019m saying? Because he needs to know that people got feelings, man. These girls are out here busting their ass to make the United States look good. Why can\u2019t they get the same treatment as the guys? And that\u2019s why my girls are coming out to see me. The guys, they did their thing. Trump had the guys over at the White House and gave them McDonald\u2019s. Well, my girls are going to eat way better than that. We going to be having shrimp, steak, lobster. We going to be partying. We going to be parading. We going to be celebrating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SHE Weekend, representing \u201cSports, Hospitality, &amp; Entertainment,\u201d will begin with a parade down the strip on Thursday, July 16, leading to a free concert on Toshiba Plaza. All of the women will attend Backstreet Boys and Ed Sheeran concerts, with meet and greets at both shows. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to female Olympians, <strong>Flavor Flav<\/strong> has also invited champions like the Professional Women\u2019s Hockey League winners from Montreal and Kentucky Derby winner <strong>Cherie DeVaux<\/strong>, who is the first female trainer to ever win. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the interview at Cannes Lions, <strong>Flav<\/strong> and <strong>Rhiannon<\/strong> gave shout outs to the companies who are making the weekend possible.
