You\u2019re Killing Me<\/em>\u2019s season 1 finale left fans with more than one cliffhanger<\/a>, including a massive roadblock in Allie and Jack\u2019s budding romance \u2014 and a \u201cmonstrous\u201d season 2 is already in the works.<\/p>\n

Warning: Spoilers below from season 1, episode 6, of You\u2019re Killing Me.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI knew a little, which was great. I knew about it beforehand,\u201d Tom Cavanagh<\/strong>, who plays detective Jack Kerrigan, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> of the shocking romance twist that came to light during the Monday, June 22, episode of the hit Acorn TV series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the finale, Jack finally kissed romance author-turned-ameatur sleuth Allison \u201cAllie\u201d Chandler (Brooke Shields<\/strong><\/a>) at her and Gen Z podcaster Andrea \u201cAndi\u201d Walker\u2019s (Amalia Williamson<\/strong><\/a>) book party.<\/p>\n

Allie pulled away as Jack leaned in, causing him to tell her it was a \u201cmistake\u201d and they should just \u201cforget\u201d it ever happened, to which she agreed. However, Allie started to second guess her action during a restless night.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re adults, right? Like, it\u2019s Brooke Shields, they\u2019re not kids,\u201d Cavanagh, 62, told Us<\/em> of the main characters\u2019 road to romance. \u201cThey\u2019ve gone through all these different iterations of romantic life [and] nothing\u2019s going to necessarily intimidate them.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted, \u201cIt\u2019s lovely that they\u2019re worthy opponents\u201d and there\u2019s a \u201cwill they, won\u2019t they<\/a>\u201d dynamic between the two.<\/p>\n

Fans held out hope for a \u201cwill they\u201d moment after a drunk Allie decided to confess her feelings for Jack during the episode\u2019s final minutes. In order to make it to Jack\u2019s cabin, Allie had to wake Andi up from her guest house and convince her to drive, which she reluctantly did.<\/p>\n

Once at the cabin, Allie tried and failed to have a Say Anything<\/em><\/a> moment, holding her cellphone up over her head and screaming for Jack to come outside.<\/p>\n

A mystery woman came to the door, which prompted Allie to say, \u201cYou\u2019re not Jack.\u201d The woman responded, \u201cI\u2019m Natalie, Jack\u2019s wife. And you are?\u201d<\/p>\n

Allie gripped her chest as if to show the physical heartbreak she was experiencing in that moment before leaning over and throwing up on Andi\u2019s shoes. The screen then faded to black and the credits rolled.<\/p>\n

Looking back and Jack and Allie\u2019s trajectory<\/a> from season 1, Cavanagh told Us<\/em>, \u201cJack\u2019s hesitant for a very good reason that isn\u2019t divulged right away, but if you [watch the] campfire scene [where Jack and Alli nearly kiss while drinking wine], you\u2019re wondering, \u2018Well, why are they just, you know, going forth?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cNow you realize, \u2018Oh!\u2019 And that it\u2019s an adult reason for the way that it got played. As opposed to just dragging the viewer along.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cavanagh admitted that the wife twist \u2014 or perhaps Natalie is his ex-wife and a potential divorce is not finalized \u2014 comes at just the right time to leave fans looking for answers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s real impetus, and then you kind of drop that bomb at the end, like, \u201cHi, I\u2019m the wife,\u2019 you\u2019re like, \u2018Wait, what?\u2019\u201d Cavanagh said of the shocking cliffhanger. \u201cIt\u2019s again well done on the writer\u2019s part.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shields, meanwhile, exclusively told Us<\/em> that she was just as surprised by Jack\u2019s secret wife, confessing, \u201cWe have no idea what situation that is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williamson, 27, teased, \u201cNo we don\u2019t. Not yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the show gears up for season 2, Shields, 61, added, \u201cWe have an idea of what might be happening<\/a>. But we just are [unsure].\u201d<\/p>\n

She revealed, \u201cBut I love to play a character that has this just catharsis, and this, like, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s all going to be [good when she] comes forward and then [she\u2019s] slapped on her face.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The romance hitch, however, isn\u2019t the only question left unanswered during the season 1 finale.<\/p>\n

The majority of the episode centered around Andi\u2019s hunt for her mother, who disappeared 15 years prior. After Andi and Allie\u2019s car broke down on their road trip to New York, park ranger Melissa Grant (Natalie Brown<\/strong>) showed up at the right moment and offered to drive them.<\/p>\n

Jack, however, soon discovered that Melissa was not a park ranger, instead she was a hitwoman searching for Andi\u2019s mom.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe first season of Sheriff Country is coming to an end with Mickey finding out who secretly betrayed her. In Us Weekly\u2018s exclusive clip from the Friday, May 22, season finale, Mickey (Morena Baccarin) notices a moment between her love interest Alec (Wes Chatham) and Miranda (Kelli O\u2019Hara), which makes her realize they are in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After Andi and Allie found the exact location of her missing mom, Melissa rushed off ahead of them, getting to the house first. When Andi and Allie arrived, they heard a gunshot before running in to find Jack and other police with a wounded Melissa in custody and Andi\u2019s mom nowhere to be found.<\/p>\n

There was, however, a hard drive with Andi\u2019s name on it with a video message from her mother. In the video, Andi\u2019s mom revealed she knew things about some \u201cdangerous\u201d people she worked for and made a deal to keep it secret to protect Andi and her father.<\/p>\n

Now that one of the bad guys is getting a retrial, Andi\u2019s mom is considered a loose end so she had to run once again \u2014 and she pleaded with her daughter not to try and find her.<\/p>\n
