\nThe 57-year-old, who stars as FBI Supervisory Special Agent Emily Prentiss in the programme, posted on X on Saturday (20.06.26) taking aim at ScreenRant writer Shealyn Scott and her piece titled: Paramount+\u2019s Criminal Minds Format Change Finally Backfires. <\/p>\n
\nIn the story, Scott criticised the show for shortening the episodes, and said that while it \u201cmay prevent filler episodes … they also hinder the show’s most promising side stories\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nPaget was clearly infuriated by the post, as she wrote in her X post: \u201cHello critic Shealynn Scott. You’re young. You don’t know that bad pics and bad reviews can lead to 350 people losing their jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe then went on to list a series of jobs she thought the critic would be better at, as she wrote: \u201cSell vintage.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWork at a shelter. Do something better than what you do now. Because right now you suck.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe comment sparked backlash from other critics in the industry, with The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s David Rooney writing: \u201cThis is a very bad look.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAn actor on a long-running show attacking a young reviewer who contextualises her respectful criticisms with obvious knowledge of the material – says way more about u being thin-skinned than it does about her professionalism.<\/p>\n
\n\u201c\u2019Work at a shelter,\u2019 really?!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWith ScreenRant\u2019s Andy Behbakht writing: \u201cThis is disgusting behaviour on your part, and really tragic to see you tearing down a young female journalist whom you are literally telling that she \u2018sucks\u2019 and that she shouldn’t be in the field that she is in.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI stand by my colleague, and you owe her an apology.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPaget then returned to X to share the requested apology, as she wrote: \u201cHi guys, I was mean to Shealyn Scott last night and I profoundly regret it. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cShame on me for insulting a human being for doing their job.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m very sorry, Shealyn. And I\u2019m sorry to those who follow me that you saw me behave like that. Turns out, last night, I sucked.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nFans had a mixed response to the apology, with some calling it \u201cweird\u201d while others praised Paget for doubling down.<\/p>\n
\nOne wrote: \u201cShe did the right thing. She crashed out in public, and she apologised in public. How many people refuse to even admit they were wrong? Good on her for owning the issue.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs another added: \u201cWhen\u00a0is the last time you saw someone with any kind of platform take accountability for their actions?<\/p>\n
