Tom Grennan has given up booze<\/p>\n
\nThe 31-year-old singer is preparing to celebrate one year since giving up alcohol and he’s insisted it’s made a massive impact because he can still have a good time without feeling terrible afterwards.<\/p>\n
\nHe told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I am coming up to a year sober now and it\u2019s changed my life. I had to really do it properly this time. Trust me, I can still have the craic, I can still be the life and soul of the party.<\/p>\n
\n“I will be in that VIP bar, I just won\u2019t be leaving with a sore head.”<\/p>\n
\nDuring the interview, Tom also confessed he took a step back from the gym after working out hard to pose for the cover of Men’s Health magazine in the autumn – and he went into “hibernation mode”.<\/p>\n
\nHe explained: “I went hard for my Men\u2019s Health cover last autumn, but after that, I definitely dropped off from the gym for a while, as I was in hibernation mode. I grew a beard and I ate a lot of s*** food.”<\/p>\n
\nTom went on to reveal he felt “a little bit lost” when it came to his music and he needed a decent break before getting back on stage for a series of shows this year.<\/p>\n
\nHe told the publication: “I think I found myself a little bit lost with music, to be honest with you. I really had to go back to the drawing board and sit down with myself and say: ‘What do I really love and what do I really love doing?\u2019<\/p>\n
\n“That is playing music, and as soon as I started playing, that was when I was having fun again.”<\/p>\n
\nTom also marked another major life milestone last year when he welcomed a baby girl with his wife Danniella – who he married in May 2024 – and he’s been struggling with being away from his daughter for long periods of time while he’s on the road but he tries to make sure they have regular video calls.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “As a dad, it\u2019s been tough being away from home. It\u2019s something that I have had to deal with and, God bless FaceTime, I suppose.<\/p>\n
\n“She gives me that little smile in the morning and it gives me that lift.”<\/p>\n
