A magical romance. Daniel Radcliffe<\/strong><\/a> and Erin Darke<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s long-term romance was built on a mutual love of acting \u2014 and one memorable first encounter.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s a wonderful record of us flirting for the first time,\u201d the Harry Potter<\/em> alum<\/a> told Playboy<\/em> in October 2015 about meeting Darke on the set of Kill Your Darlings<\/em>. \u201cThere\u2019s no acting going on \u2014 not from my end, anyway. There\u2019s a moment when she makes me laugh, and I\u2019m laughing as me<\/a> and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n After making a strong connection<\/a> while filming a love scene for the 2013 indie film, the pair embarked on a real-life romance. In January 2020, Radcliffe explained that his relationship with the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel<\/em> actress is unlike any of his previous ones<\/a>, primarily due to the fact that they enjoy the same \u201cnerdy\u201d things and are totally comfortable being themselves. \u201cI grew up doing lots of things where I thought, \u2018This is super nerdy. I\u2019ll never be able to do this around a girl,’\u201d the Trainwreck<\/em> actor told the UK outlet Metro<\/a> in January 2020. \u201cBut that\u2019s the wonderful thing about the moment you find the relationship you\u2019re meant to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n Radcliffe added: \u201cIt\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, I can do all of that stuff and you don\u2019t mind. People are weird with fame sometimes,\u201d the Michigan native said in a joint interview with Radcliffe for Vulture<\/em><\/a> in March 2020. \u201cWe\u2019re at the point now where I\u2019ve seen my own wedding reported several times. You do start to dismiss things you read about your partner if you\u2019re pretty sure they\u2019re not true.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, laughing: \u201cWe\u2019re boring to [the paparazzi]. Ninety percent of the paparazzi photos of us are getting coffee. \u2026 Or going to the grocery store. We\u2019ve been photographed twice waiting for an Uber. Dan is not the most exciting celebrity.\u201d<\/p>\n While Radcliffe often has to spend time away from the\u00a0Love & Mercy<\/em> actress as they work on various film and TV projects, the pair do their best to stay close and connected. \u201cThere\u2019s always an element of long distance with two actors in a relationship,\u201d the England native told Radio Times<\/em> magazine in January 2020. \u201cWe always end up traveling a lot \u2026 It is what it is.
