Sharon Osbourne<\/strong><\/a> missed out on the unveiling of a statue of her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong><\/a>, due to an \u201cunexpected\u201d trip to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry I couldn\u2019t be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy\u2019s statue. Unfortunately I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week,\u201d Sharon, 73, shared via Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, June 18. \u201cA big thank you Olivier Garnier<\/strong>, Ben Barbaud<\/strong> and everyone at Hellfest. Special thank you to @philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue!\u201d<\/p>\n

The six-meter-tall \u201cPrince of Darkness\u201d statue \u2014 which, as Sharon mentioned, was designed by French contemporary artist Philippe Pasqua<\/strong> \u2014 was unveiled this week at the Clisson, France, open-air heavy metal music festival. The stone statue is engraved with Ozzy\u2019s concert slogan, \u201cLet the madness begin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hellfest has a track record of constructing elaborate tributes to fallen rock heroes, as organizers built a similarly massive statue in honor of late Mot\u00f6rhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister<\/strong> in 2022. (Kilmister died at age 70 in December 2015 following a battle with prostate cancer.)<\/p>\n

Sharon has not elaborated further on what ailment landed her in the hospital.<\/p>\n

The \u201cPrince of Darkness\u201d statue at Hellfest is one of several ways that the Osbournes are honoring the life and legacy of the late Ozzy, who died at age 76 in July 2025. (His cause of death was confirmed to be related to cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson\u2019s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2019.)<\/p>\n

Sharon and son Jack Osbourne recently announced work has begun on the creation of an AI-generated Ozzy Osbourne avatar. Per Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, Sharon and Jack are partnering with Hyperreal and Proto Hologram on an AI-powered avatar that has \u201cthe digital DNA of Ozzy Osbourne, voice, image [and] movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cElvis died 50 years ago, and everybody knows Elvis,\u201d Sharon said at the Las Vegas launch in May. \u201cI just want that for Ozzy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Jack\u2019s sister Kelly Osbourne<\/strong> recently shared exclusively with Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> at the Mind x The Ricky Hatton Foundation charity auction that she has special plans to commemorate her first Father\u2019s Day without Ozzy.<\/p>\n

He was seeing people that he never knew,\u201d Sharon, 73, said on the Wednesday, December 10, episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. \u201cI said, \u2018Well, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cMe and my brother Louis<\/strong> are going to do something special for my dad this weekend,\u201d she confirmed to Us<\/em> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

(Ozzy was the father of six. He shared Elliot<\/strong>, Jessica<\/strong> and Louis with his first wife Thelma Riley and later welcomed Aimee<\/strong>, Kelly, and Jack during his second marriage to Sharon.)<\/p>\n

Asked how she was coping with the loss of her dad, Kelly told Us<\/em>, \u201cI\u2019m getting a little bit better every day. The pain will never go away, and I\u2019ll never be the person I was before he died again. But I\u2019m getting to know the new me.\u201d<\/p>\n
