She even recently won a 2026 Canadian Screen Award<\/em><\/a> for her role. <\/p>\n Nadine<\/strong> is one the actresses featured for Seventeen<\/a><\/em>\u2018s \u201cEvery Fandom Has Its Favorite\u201d digital cover, and she opened up about when she knew the show was going to be huge and how she was the first person cast. <\/p>\n \u201cAt the Toronto premiere, which was four days before the show aired in Canada, the U.S., and Australia. There were fans of the books at the venue; that was unusual. Then after the first two episodes dropped, I\u2019ve never seen that much press for a show with no previous buzz. It was insane,\u201d Nadine<\/strong> dished about the show blowing up. <\/p>\n \u201cOf course, after episode 3 dropped, everything changed. I was like,\u00a0\u2018Oh, we\u2019ve really done something here.\u2019 Usually people find a show much later. Jacob [Tierney]<\/strong> said, \u2018I\u2019ve never been watched in real time by real people. What is happening?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was the first person cast. I\u2019ll never forget the day Jacob<\/strong> called and asked if I\u2019d come to this new show of his. I immediately said yes, and it was so cool to watch them build this world.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n If you didn\u2019t know, Nadine<\/strong> previously worked with Jacob <\/strong>on another hockey show \u2013 Letterkenny<\/em>, which he co-created.<\/p>\n She also shared what she thinks is the aspect of queer storytelling fans are most eager for. <\/p>\n \u201cEasy: gargantuan love. So much queer storytelling is wracked with strife,\u201d Nadine<\/strong> said. \u201cOf course, that reflects a reality many people live with, but aspirational queer TV is necessary, too.
