Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/strong><\/a> is not closing the door entirely on a return to The View<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

During an appearance<\/a> on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em><\/a> on Thursday, June 18, O\u2019Donnell, 64, was quizzed about whether she\u2019d be interested in returning as a guest host, like her former View<\/em> sparring partner Elisabeth Hasselbeck<\/strong> did earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would be up to guest host, but they haven\u2019t asked me. So we\u2019ll see what happens,\u201d the comedian and former talk show host shared.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell also reignited her feud with former costar Hasselbeck, 49, noting that she caught the latter\u2019s return<\/a> to the ABC daytime talk show in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s interesting, in the time of Trump, I think she\u2019s the perfect person they want on TV spouting their rhetoric, you know?\u201d O\u2019Donnell said, referring to Hasselbeck\u2019s conservative political views.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell appeared on The View<\/em> from 2006 to 2007 (and again from 2014 to 2015) and famously clashed with Hasselbeck on current affairs topics discussed around the table.<\/p>\n

In May 2007, during a heated debate about the Iraq war, producers used a split-screen shot<\/a> to show both O\u2019Donnell and Hasselbeck \u2014 something that O\u2019Donnell is still unhappy about.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you still annoyed that the director went to the split screen?\u201d host Andy Cohen<\/strong> asked O\u2019Donnell.<\/p>\n

She responded, \u201cYeah, I\u2019m still annoyed, believe me. Mommy knows how to hold a grudge.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an October 2025 radio interview, O\u2019Donnell claimed the split-screen saga \u201cwas a set-up,\u201d adding, \u201cOur producer [was] not an on-the-fly kind of guy \u2026 he wouldn\u2019t have been like, \u2018Let\u2019s go to a splitscreen.\u2019 That was prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell quickly left The View<\/em> after the controversial segment, asking to be released from her contract with ABC.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I went off the stage that day, I went to my dressing room to pack all my stuff up, go back and do the rest of the segments \u2026 and walked out and never went back,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said. \u201cIt felt to me like I was on a basketball team of five women, and one of them kept tripping me on my way to the hoop. \u2026 This [was] supposed to be my team.\u201d<\/p>\n
