\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Billy Bush<\/strong><\/a> is looking back at his time working alongside Al Roker<\/strong><\/a> on Today<\/strong><\/em>, and he doesn\u2019t seem to have many fond memories.<\/p>\n Billy<\/strong>, 54, joined Today<\/em> in May 2016 as a co-host for the third hour of the NBC morning show, hosting alongside the 71-year-old weatherman. Billy<\/strong> was fired from Today<\/em> months later in October when a video of a lewd conversation he had with now-President Donald Tump<\/strong> in a hot mic moment surfaced online.<\/p>\n During a recent appearance on The Nerve with Maureen Callahan<\/em><\/a>, Billy <\/strong>claimed that Al <\/strong>was \u201cmean\u201d and \u201cterritorial.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s something about me in particular, forever, that was like [he] likes me but fears me, didn\u2019t want me anywhere near,\u201d Billy <\/strong>said. \u201cThe way I describe Al<\/strong> is three words: territorial, vindictive, and chronically unprepared.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI took [my job] very seriously, I prepared for every guest. I knew everything, I was well researched. I would get into a rhythm and Al <\/strong>would get jealous,\u201d Billy<\/strong> alleged. \u201cHe\u2019s territorial.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to claim that Al<\/strong> would interject after he asked a guest multiple \u201cquestions in a row,\u201d adding that he felt unwelcomed by Al<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was this general feeling they don\u2019t want you there,\u201d Billy<\/strong> said. \u201cWhen I got the gig, the bosses did the thing, they thought I was going to be great for the third hour. But the territorial talent, especially the men \u2014 Matt Lauer<\/strong>, Al Roker<\/strong> \u2014 definitely did not want me there. You could feel it on their skin. I could feel it in the room with them.\u201d<\/p>\n At one point during his short tenure on Today<\/em>, Billy <\/strong>claimed that Al<\/strong> was liking social media posts that described him as a \u201cwhite-splaining racist.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was on the air with him every day,\u201d he recalled. \u201cAnd so I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, my god, I\u2019m here. I\u2019m new. I\u2019m the new guy. And this dude\u2019s liking tweets from people that are calling me things that are career-ending and awful and not f\u2013king true.’\u201d<\/p>\n Billy<\/strong> claimed that he brought the issue up to producers, but they allegedly didn\u2019t do anything because \u201cAl<\/strong> had been there forever.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPeople don\u2019t know how mean he was. He\u2019s mean,\u201d Billy<\/strong> said of Al<\/strong>. \u201cHe\u2019s mean. He\u2019s a mean person. When you say rageful and all that, it\u2019s mean. There is rage in there. There\u2019s jealousy.
