\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Lil Nas X<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about a diagnosis.<\/p>\n The 27-year-old \u201cOld Town Road\u201d superstar spoke out in a video update shared on Wednesday (July 17), revealing he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n The disorder is described by Cleveland Clinic<\/a> as \u201ca lifelong mental health condition with episodes of high energy (mania or hypomania) and low mood (depression). Symptoms may disrupt your sleep, activities and daily life. But treatment and support may help you stay stable.\u201d<\/p>\n \n<\/center><\/p>\n \u201cHey. I really wanted to talk to you guys. It\u2019s no way I\u2019m going to be able to make this not awkward because it\u2019s really awkward for me. But I wrote down a few notes so I can at least make sure I say the things that I do want to say,\u201d he began.<\/p>\n \u201cFirst, where I\u2019ve been. I\u2019ve been in rehab for a few months and since then I\u2019ve been back at home, whether it\u2019s in Atlanta with my family or in Los Angeles with myself and friends and whatnot, and trying to ground myself down to earth and get out of my head. I have a therapist now and a psychiatrist, which has been really helpful.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWhen I got my bipolar disorder diagnosis i feel like i had known for like the past few years but I didn\u2019t want to admit to it because i didn\u2019t want to have to take medication\u2026I don\u2019t know how people think different of me, I mean I\u2019m already like Black and gay, like damn God\u2026come on\u2026I\u2019m like living life on extreme hard mode,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n \u201cBut on a serious note, I\u2019m doing much better\u2026I\u2019m feeling better, I\u2019m creating freely and there\u2019s less fear in my heart..I\u2019m smelling the roses,\u201d Lil Nas X went on to say.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been doing music for seven years now, that\u2019s crazy. Speaking of music, I want to let you guys know that there is new music on the way. And I\u2019m not getting completely to that just yet, but I\u2019m excited to do that.
