\nThe 55-year-old star – whose real name is Michael Tyler – was arrested in July 2022 on six charges including first-degree rape, false imprisonment, and strangulation but in March this year, he pleaded guilty to lesser charges of third-degree rape and now he has been sentenced.<\/p>\n
\nThe unnamed victim appeared before the court on Tuesday (16.06.26) and told of how the rapper had \u201cchoked her, pulled braids out of her hair and forcibly raped her.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nAfter she spoke, the Shake Ya Ass hitmaker said: \u201cIf I did that to you, I deserve the max sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAccording to WBRZ, his sentencing came just days after he filed a motion to withdraw his plea because he \u201cdid not have sufficient opportunity to fully consider the consequences\u201d before admitting he was guilty of the crime.<\/p>\n
\nThe motion argued he was \u201cunder significant emotional distress and felt substantial pressure to make an immediate decision.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIf he had been convicted of all the initial charges – first-degree rape, simple criminal damage to property, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, simple robbery, and false imprisonment in the assault – he would have faced a life sentence.<\/p>\n
\nThe Danger (Been So Long) hitmaker had been accused of beating, choking and robbing the woman, who alleged he took her keys and phone and raped her while she searched for money he had taken. She claimed he eventually allowed her to leave after forcing her to send him money via CashApp.<\/p>\n
\nThe rapper would have been facing a life sentence had he been convicted of initial charges that included <\/p>\n
\nMystikal previously spent 18 months in the Caddo Correctional Center from 2017 to 2019 for first degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, which were dismissed due to lack of evidence in 2020.<\/p>\n
\nThe former US army combat engineer also served 81 days in East Baton Rouge Parish Jail in 2012 on a misdemeanour charge of domestic abuse battery.<\/p>\n
\nAnd Mystikal did six years at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center for sexual battery and extortion against his hair stylist as well as two misdemeanour counts of failing to file tax returns for 1998\u2013\u201999.<\/p>\n
