Seth Rogen doesn’t speak to James Franco<\/p>\n
The Studio star enjoyed a hugely successful partnership with his Freaks and Geeks co-star for many years, creating movies such as Pineapple Express, This Is the End, and Sausage Party together – but their friendship collapsed after James was accused of sexually inappropriate behaviour by a number of women, and Seth has admitted he hasn’t spoken to his former pal “in a long time” and has no intention of working with him again.<\/p>\n
He told The New York Times newspaper: \u201cI honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a very personal thing. There\u2019s the public-facing side of it, which I\u2019ve spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I\u2019ve had, and I think the proof is in the pudding \u2014 I have not worked with him in years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Seth stressed that the \u201cpersonal side\u201d of their relationship involves people he doesn\u2019t know he should be “dragging into this,\u201d and it is a subject he is reluctant to keep revisiting.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I don\u2019t know what I would benefit from getting deeply into it. Nothing has changed since the last time I talked about all this, and I haven\u2019t worked with him in a really long time and I have no plans to.<\/p>\n
\n“I haven\u2019t talked to him in a long time, no.”<\/p>\n
\nThe 44-year-old actor reflected on what he thinks makes a good friendship.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I think the same thing as any other dynamic: a desire to be good to one another \u2014 which again, sounds intuitive, but when I look at people who have bad relationships, the thing I notice is that they seem to be looking for every reason to not be nice to each other.<\/p>\n
\n“I come from a world that wasn\u2019t a macho sports-oriented environment. Everyone\u2019s parents were in therapy. <\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m from the Pacific Northwest. We were ahead of the curve on a lot of that stuff in the \u201980s and \u201990s. I come from a group of friends who were very communicative and open and not afraid of sharing what they were feeling with one another.”<\/p>\n
\nJames previously confessed that he thinks his friendship with Seth is “over” and suggested he had made unsuccessful attempts to reconnect.<\/p>\n
\nThe Hollywood star – who reached a $2 million sexual misconduct settlement in 2021 – told Variety: “I haven\u2019t talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it\u2019s over. And not for lack of trying. I\u2019ve told him how much he\u2019s meant to me.”<\/p>\n
