\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Tim Allen<\/strong><\/a> calls his character\u2019s age gap relationship on Shifting Gears<\/strong><\/a><\/em> is on the border of creepy. <\/p>\n The 73-year-old actor\u2019s Matt Parker is dating Jenna Elfman<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Eve Drake, who is about 20 years younger. <\/p>\n In a new interview, the Toy Story 5<\/em> star recalls having concerns about the on-screen romance in his ABC comedy, though he notes it\u2019s \u201cnot much different\u201d than he and his wife, Jane Hajduk<\/strong>. <\/p>\n \u201cIt depends on the pictures. It gets creepy for me at a certain age [and] we\u2019re right at that border,\u201d he told Us Weekly<\/a><\/em>. \u201cIf Jenna<\/strong> didn\u2019t look so damn nice than our age gap is not that much. I just let my hair go natural and she just looks \u2014 especially on camera \u2014 quite young.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey say when you\u2019re lit better and I go, \u2018When I\u2019m lit better, I look probably 68,\u2019\u201d Tim<\/strong> says. \u201cI just don\u2019t want to be creepy about it \u2014 and that\u2019s kind of the borderline image these days.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt hasn\u2019t really come out \u2014 except when they joke about, \u2018Well, a guy your age.\u2019 When they have her making jokes about it, it\u2019s not my preference. But I said, \u2018It\u2019s admitting what is there,\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cThere\u2019s times \u2014 and I\u2019ll give it to them \u2014 that they lit right and in the right clothing so it doesn\u2019t look creepy.\u201d<\/p>\n Tim<\/strong> notes that he just \u201cwanted a car show about a widower to deal with grief,\u201d but goes with the flow when Jenna<\/strong>\u2018s character was introduced. <\/p>\n \u201cThey threw this romance in there and I know Jenna<\/strong> so I said, \u2018That\u2019s not the problem. It\u2019s just that I\u2019m feeling way too old for her.\u2019 Sometimes they say, \u2018Visually it doesn\u2019t look like you think it does,\u2019\u201d he said. <\/p>\n Now, he\u2019s interested to see where the characters go next, after seeing the reception to the relationship, which was off, then back on by the end of season two. <\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s so fun to be around and it\u2019s brought out a whole different part of that show and brought a different audience to that show,\u201d Tim<\/strong> shared. \u201cI\u2019m really out there for the car guys and I make sure the car stuff is fun and exciting. Then the office is cool and now you\u2019ve got romance for the people that want that.
