\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Chrissy Teigen<\/strong><\/a> is mourning the death of her father.<\/p>\n On Wednesday (June 10), the 40-year-old cookbook author took to Instagram<\/a> to announce that her dad, Ron Teigen Sr.<\/strong>, had suddenly died the day before.<\/p>\n \u201cYesterday I woke up with a daddy and went to bed without one,\u201d Chrissy <\/strong>wrote. \u201cAll the same things happened. Hurried shower. Picked up stuffing from the dog toys. Answered some emails. Avoided some. Laughed with my friends and put on a pretty dress for a friend\u2019s birthday. Took a video. How cute is this dress!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then my dad just like\u2026f\u2013king died,\u201d she continued. \u201cI thought that since we talk about it and I\u2019ve come to terms with him always having been an \u2018old dad\u2019 that I wouldn\u2019t have fallen to the ground the way I did. I\u2019ve thought about this phone call for years. I\u2019ll be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cA couple months ago I was able to go away for a week,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI wrote my dad a letter about how grateful I was for him. About how hard he worked for us growing up and how much I love him. I am forever grateful for the moment I handed him the letter, and all our years before.\u201d <\/p>\n Chrissy<\/strong> added, \u201cIf you didn\u2019t know my dad, my dad hated nearly everything in the world that wasn\u2019t a bass guitar, swing dancing, wood carving, animals, YouTube, or his family. I have hundreds and hundreds of videos of him just being mad at things he isn\u2019t even doing, watching, or eating. They make me so happy now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGod I love you so much. I will talk to you every night,\u201d she concluded. \u201cThank you for being such a great dad. Until we complain again.\u201d<\/p>\n Along with her message, Chrissy<\/strong> shared a video of her dad talking about raising her in the Pacific Northwest and joking about salmon.<\/p>\n \u201cSalmon this, salmon that\u2026 I got so much salmon I\u2019ll never touch another salmon for the rest of my life,\u201d Ron <\/strong>said in the clip as people around him laughed.<\/p>\n In the comments section, Chrissy<\/strong>\u2018s husband John Legend<\/strong><\/a> paid tribute to his late father-in-law.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love you so much Papa Ron,\u201d the 47-year-old EGOT winner wrote. \u201cI\u2019m so glad you got to spend so much time with your grandbabies.
