Jodie Foster<\/a> has joked she\u2019ll be the only actress left in Hollywood with the \u201cjowls to play the junkie grandma\u201d due to never having had plastic surgery. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n

The 63-year-old screen star opened up to The Telegraph about her decision to stay natural and insisted she\u2019s happier than ever – with her appearance and her on-screen successes.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cI feel very lucky. I don\u2019t know what happened \u2013 my 50s were tough, because society gives you these weird thought processes about how you\u2019re supposed to compete with people half your age, and compete with an image you had of yourself when you were in your 20s. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe 50s were hard for me. I felt like it was hormonal, I was just filled with anxiety and not-enough-ness.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then something happened when I turned 60. I felt, \u2018Oh wow, I don\u2019t care.\u2019 I think my work is better than it\u2019s ever been, and I\u2019m happier at work, and it\u2019s also to do with recognising it\u2019s other people\u2019s time, and being able to step back and figure out how to help people tell stories that hadn\u2019t been heard before.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cTrue Detective for example, and\u00a0The Mauritanian\u00a0\u2013 those, for me, were really satisfying \u2013 more satisfying than anything I\u2019ve ever done.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJodie also joked that due to her avoidance of Botox, fillers and any surgical anti-ageing tweaks, she\u2019s sure to be offered dream roles when she hits her 70s as well. <\/p>\n
\nShe laughed: \u201c[I\u2019ll be] the only one left who isn\u2019t all pushed and pulled with my face melted off. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ll be the only one who will still have the jowls to play the junkie grandma. And I look forward to that!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElsewhere in the interview, Jodie opened up about parenting, and said she\u2019s always done her utmost not to interfere with her eldest son Charlie\u2019s acting career. <\/p>\n
\nShe explained: \u201cI\u2019ve been very careful not to intervene in any way, so I offer no opinions about what he does. And I try to be positive and neutral, because my mother wasn\u2019t. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI really want my kids to know that they did it on their own, without any help, and if they\u2019re a success, it\u2019s because of them, and that they take accountability for whatever failures they might have, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJodie shares two children with Cydney Bernard, her former partner of 15 years, with the other being 24-year-old Kit – a scientist. <\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cThe younger one is a scientist, and I don\u2019t understand anything he does, although he always diligently sends me everything and tries to talk me through it.\u201d<\/p>\n
